Nobody has ever committed to a school, and then decided that it wasn't a good fit after a year.

Nobody, ever.

Ever.

Ever.

Maybe I just made better decisions about the future of my life, so I just might not understand it.

So what did Alice Kamara do to get this 5th star? Ride the pine at Alabama?

that came off a little insensitive but if the kid doesn't want to stick it out for more than a redshirt year he obviously made a horrible decision. Maybe it works out it UT for him.

He may be fine at UT.

He just lashed out and that is what got him bounced (supposedly).

He should be featured at UT (in the two back rotation).

Had he stayed at Bama, he probably would have played this year after Drake got hurt

Not sure how this was negative. Just to be clear, if I was to bet on it, I think he will probably do well at UT. Had it worked out with him and the staff at Bama, I think he would have done well at Bama.

Eta: The last "4th string" RB to transfer from Bama just rushed for 1200 plus yards and 16 TDs making second team all-conference at CSU.

How do you know if it was a horrible decision? He made the best decision for HIM. For a multitude of reasons, sometimes things don't work out as planned. It's not like moving, going to a JUCO school for a year, and then having to go through the recruiting process all over again is the easy way out. I'm sure it was a tough decision, but one he felt would be better for him in the long run.

I apologize to you. Vols and shaft has my "jimmies rustled". I understand there are many variables that goes into college recruits decision, and those expectations aren't always met, which throws a curveball in the whole process. Fwiw kamara was my favorite recruit of that class and I wish him well, except for the arse beating him and Tennessee will receive the next two years.

I think he has 3 years of eligibility, so you'll get more than two shots.lol

The stuff about him talking shite to recruits is rumor only. I remember the day that rumor started, no one could actually point to anything on twitter or from any recruit's twitter or any actual evidence that this

Going into that weekend's OV, he was the host for 2 recruits thought to be strong Bama leans and 1 commit (or close to commit, can't remember if Hootie had committed or not yet but I think he had)

After that weekend the 2 "Bama leans" both started looking elsewhere, the OT ended up at Mizzou (rumored to be coming on OV with his parents to commit that weekend), Zach Whitley backed off I think he even might've decommited, and Hootie decommited and called LSU the second he got back home.

Those all happened right after the recruiting weekend in question and he was the host for those 3 guys, it was much more than a rumor

All that being said I hope the kid does well at UT

And LSU politely told Hootie that he made his bed and he can sleep in it.

If has to work for touches he will be pissed

"I'm just going to go in and work hard — that’s really what you’ve got to do — and do what you’re supposed to do and learn. I know (freshman running back) Jalen Hurd is there right now, and I can learn stuff from him just because he’s been there this year already. “I can definitely learn some things from Jalen and just really learn. That’s really what I’m going in like: ‘OK, let me learn and do everything I’ve got to do so I can make sure I get all of it.’”

quote:
“I feel like Jalen is probably one of the only guys that’s on scholarship, so I’m definitely going in and playing a big role, as long as I do what I’ve got to do,” Kamara said. “Just watching Jalen play, I think we can complement each other pretty well. I think it’ll go pretty well, and we’ll see how it goes in the spring.”

Looks like he's still focused on playing time. He may be happy since UT won't have 3 guys ahead of him (we assume).

Zach Whitley was the one everyone was upset about. I believe Whitley came out and said he heard things on the visit that concerned him. He never mentioned any names. But ZW was already considering UCLA at that point and every UA fan knew it because his life long best friend already committed to UCLA. Not to mention the last I heard ZW has been dismissed from UCLA.

Kamara will be a beast for UT. AK it seems may have matured after leaving UA. He was looking great going into fall camp. Most reports iirc had him ahead of Henry going into the fall. Then he suffered the knee injury. After that he never got back on track. He got suspended right before the LSU game for "behavior issues" and again before the Sugar Bowl along with X Dickson. We found out he was officially gone when he got arrested last Jan. while back home in GA.

Star RB coming out of HS with 3 other top RBs. Was the last to commit to UA and said all through his recruitment he had no issue competing for a spot and before the injury he was ahead of the other 3. UT was one of his top choices to begin with and a great friend whose family has always been there for him is on the UT roster as well. The only good news about him committing to UT is he may be a one and done, just like J Robinson will probably be for AU.

Good luck to him and I hope he stays healthy because he should be in the league in the next few years.

I'm sure he is loving sleeping in the bed that is in the first NC playoff.

Much better than sleeping in the Music City bowl bed.
