I've been busy with the SO and am reading this rumor that Sumlin thought he had Chavis?
The same Chavis who's been at TWO schools since 1989?
edited to be nicer

Apparently a big was thrusted upon them tonight? Fair statement?
I'm still playing catch up. But this shite is HYSTERICAL.
I read their board earlier after the Jefferson ordeal. But my god how things have went south in just a couple hours.

I haven't even heard A&M fans talking about getting him before today. I don't see how his name gets brought up today and they lose a couple recruits and suddenly they hate Sumlin's guts.

I mean they legit went from swagcopter to fire him in ONE DAY

I have no idea how we got here either just enjoy it

Chavis was not a serious candidate in our eyes. When we heard that Sumlin was dicking around trying to get him while multiple stud recruits were waiting for us to hire a DC, that pissed people off. Nobody is pissed that he didn't land Chavis. We are pissed that he went for Chavis (if that rumor is really true).

only school i could see him going to is SC, with him being from SC. That is contingent on Miles going to Michigan and not bringing Chavis with him.

I get all of that. The fact, or theory rather, that he was after Chavis is just so outlandish that I can barely wrap my head around it.
If true, I'm hoping Chavis strung him along and that's why we are where we are. No offense. But the west is tough enough as it is.

This right here is one of the reasons we are pissed at Sumlin. It was a complete frick up.

It's insane and so wonderful
I'm just remembering all the old Speedy threads (especially the one with his tweet about making the right choice)
Sure, get those receiving yards. But Loser's get drafted late.

I mean he's had two jobs in 25 years
If true, Sumlin is an idiot. Or Chavis fricked him.

So Derek Dooley and Gene Chizik are moving right on up that wish list.

These two are not mutually exclusive.

Welcome to the SEC?

Exactly. People are starting to think that Sumlin is not that smart of a coach and he landed in a perfect situation. The Chizik comparisons are funny, but they could be scary accurate (without the championship).

I'd take a step back and make sure the guy didn't make 1 bad judgement call with Chavis
he's done pretty well for yall thus far
