Well they've definitely missed the mark on "man of the year" several times. Hitler made it in the 30's.

Tell us more about how Auburn won the title in 83 and not Miami.

I dont know about that report but, I can say this having a kid about to graduate in this state, both schools recruited him for academics, but Auburn had the tougher entrance requirements and far more competition regarding scholarships.

I don't know what the minimums are for either school are but if your child is at that level, scholarships are not a concern for him.

My two oldest were offered scholarships to both. As far as scholarship money goes, you're competing for fewer slots. Auburn has a smaller pool of endowed scholarships to draw from. There's just more total money to give out at UA. It's been that way for quite some time.

Yep. I started trying to get scholarship money my junior year at AU (I only had a 2.7 GPA in high school, so no way I was getting jack) and finally got one the end of my junior year. And I was a member of several honor societies and had the 3rd highest GPA in the entire school of business at AU (3.9 something). My reward was a whole $2500 and even that was tough to get as their just wasn't much available.

That list is a joke. UCLA is by far and away the best school on the list. Georgia Tech is probably #2. Wisconsin is way too low -- much much better school than Alabama.

I think there is a misunderstanding of what is being measured. If I read the article correctly this is not about the difficulty of acceptance, curriculum difficulty, etcetera. It's a measure of the mens' football graduation percentage then rank, altered (appropriately I think) to take into account transfers and early draft entries.

Anyone who read the article, isn't this right?

I've taken dumps that are smarter than Tiger N Miami AU 83. I don't mean for that to sound like I'm bragging, because it isn't much of an accomplishment.
