No, that isnt being fair. You guys are freaking out over a couple of (very highly rated) recruits that essentially tried to big time the HC into telling them what they wanted to hear.
Again, if they can't wait to see who the hire is when NSD is still so far away they have coddling issues and were never the firm commits they acted like in the first place.
On top of that, these kids might still be committed to A&M if Snyder was here yet you rabble have been pissing and moaning about getting rid of him since the middle of last year. Well guess what? Y'all got what you wanted now you can deal with the fallout. Too bad so sad.
I mean shite... peeps be saying this means we won't have a "wrecking crew" for years to come when you dont even know who the DC will be? GTFO with that namby pamby over the top cry baby shite man. Good god you guys are freaking out like a 13 year old silver spoon brat who just got a Mercedes instead of a Lexus.

Malik is an early enrollee. He doesn't have until NSD. Bottom line is Sumlin has had over a month to land a good DC and he shat the bed. Malik had a right to know who the DC was going to be and Sumlin couldn't give him any answers. This is 100% on him

Malik can wait. If he doesn't like it too bad. If doesn't like being told to STFU and fall in line he's going to end up transferring out of Texas within two years.

Yes, yes we are. Welcome to 2014, how well you recruit is how well you do in the SEC. If a five star wants our coach to run down 6th street with his dick hanging out you oblige. That is the current state of the recruiting game.
This day basically took us out of the running of competing in the SEC the next year or so (or longer).

If we had some awesome out-of-state backup plan with more heart I would agree. As it is our backup plan is more WRs.

Defense is 90% talent and 10% coaching. Has been that way before RC was head coach at A&M. We have NEVER had a top defense without being the top option for defensive talent in the state. Never.

More like a 13 year old who got a Mercedes (aka our stadium) but doesn't get a chance to drive it once utnil they are 16 (aka when we fire Sumlin).

That is your disconnect- it is not just one recruit. Malik going to Texas made us lose like 4 or 5 top recruits.
If Kirk would have committed to ASU we would have had 5% of this melt. This is about the big picture, and the fact that in the Game of Thrones that is college football Sumlin looks like Ned Stark.
