Well none of that matters. Receiving player touched the ball before the defender made contact. Play is legal and clean. Nice try.

I cant believe you have made me defend fricking bammer too.

I can't believe you are so fricking ignorant. Read the applicable rule 6-4-1 and the accompanying A.R.'s related to the rule....or remain ignorant. It's your choice.

Dang, I am starting to see why Fulmer turned you guys in for cheating and why everyone hates Bama fans. Not 'Bama itself, just the fans.

Thats the rule boss. It was called correctly.

LINK

Again, first page and paragraph.

What video are you watching where Jones let the returner catch it cleanly? The one that's posted clearly shows he makes contact before the catch was completed. Also, he was within one yard of the returner before the ball was touched. So, you're wrong.

Why do you keep citing outdated rules?

The rules are still in place. The returner must be allowed to catch the kick cleanly. Hitting him as soon as he touches it does not fall under "catching it cleanly".

The referee clearly felt that because the returner was able to get two hands on the ball he wasnt impeded in making the catch.

Because officials never make mistakes right?

ETA: Since when is getting two hands on it the same as catching it cleanly?

Who's "worked up"?...I'm just stating facts.
Skippy, you might not know Rogers Redding prepares a video of rule changes, fouls, rulings, good calls, missed calls, etc for the preseason officiating clinics. This play was used as an example of KCI.

Let's see....do I believe the rule book and the editor of the rule book (Rogers Redding) or do I go with what a fricktard on a message board says?

I think I'll go with Redding.

Since it wasn't a punt that rule is out the window. It's a free ball there is no rule for giving the receiver space on a kick off.

Since they changed the onside kick rules I'm pretty sure there are.

A kick off is a free ball. Period.

Assuming a football player with decent speed can achieve 20 mph, that player will cover about 10 yards per second while running at full speed (1780 yards in a mile, times 20, divided by 60 for minutes, divided by 60 again for seconds). Considering that Christion Jones is a WR, and was running at close to full speed at the time of collision, he would have covered that yard in about a tenth of a second - which is precisely what happened and easily legal.
