Crowknowsbest, Peter Buck, porter, meansonny, swin,... anybody

What is the timeline for Mike Bobo's raise? I'm hearing Colorado State will annonce on Monday.

Before or after that decision?

Any leak about negotiations or anything?

Also saw Oregon's offensive coordinator was CSU's original leading candidate. Was this old news before Bobo interviewed?... fact they are using a search firm prolly helps the Dawgs, right?

What's gonna happen?

Decent info here

quote:

The catch here is that the interviews at this point are considered preliminary, with DHR and a small group of additional CSU insiders charged with screening and vetting possible candidates — a number to be determined — to move along to the next step.

When some reacted to the news of Bobo’s interview with the assumption that he is going to be the Rams’ next coach, that was considerably premature and even a bit naive. This preliminary interview came to light. He might become the Rams’ next coach, but this is part of a bigger picture.

Frank isn’t yet involved and presumably won’t be until final interviews.

Other possibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Former CSU players Tony Alford, the running backs coach at Notre Dame; Billy Gonzales, co-offensive coordinator at Mississippi State; and Rick Dennison, quarterbacks coach of the Baltimore Ravens.

• Oregon offensive coordinator Scott Frost and/or wide receivers coach Matt Lubick.

• Plus Michigan State defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi; Auburn offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee; and Texas defensive coordinator Vance Bedford.

quote:

The hottest of the “hot” candidates, both at CSU and potentially elsewhere, is Frost, the former Nebraska quarterback. But him coming to Fort Collins now is an absolute longshot.

I keep an eye on twitter and haven't seen anything significant anywhere. I think I know of the "Monday announcement" you're referring to, and if so, that was basically somebody's spidey sense tingling somewhere because their "source had a feeling" there would be an announcement Monday.

If Bobo is not offered a significant raise, heads will roll.

ETA: I also saw somewhere that Bobo interviewed somewhere in Texas and was back in Athens for practice that afternoon. If true, that interview was not very involved.

I know Vance Bedford, Pat Narduzzi, and the ND RB coach (CSU alum) have all interviewed for it. I think CSU's OC is in play as well. I'd be sort of surprised if Bobo got the job with his distinct disadvantage in ties to the region. McElwain was a west coast guy.

I also sort of doubt they'll want to hire a guy who would be looking to move up in relatively short order, but we'll see.

Bobo will get a raise if he stays. Not sure how big

Apparently UGA is a hot mess behind the scenes right now. Admin doesn't want to shell out money and coaches are pushing. Basically we have to pray Colorado state doesn't offer Bobo because there is no way we will match what they are offering. Bobo will probably get a raise but it won't bs huge. I'd say UGA will pay him in the $750 range. He deserves almost twice that.

If Bobo doesn't get the CSU job, this isn't going to be the last offer.........

Bobo's now on the short-list for similiar head coaching jobs. His name is always going to come up now.

UGA has to make him a millionaire or he's gone sooner rather than later, imo.

Two big problems with this scenario.

1) more likely to lose Bobo, and all the fallout from that

2) sends a clear message to outside coaches that UGA may want that UGA doesn't actually give a frick about winning

Agreed, and I truly hope we do just that. Well worth it in my opinion.

That is my thought, too. But, as others have said, UGA's admin doesn't give a damn... I would be surprised if he were to stay.

If he goes, I expect an exodus of sorts. And then this place will be the dumpster fire that everyone does not want. Let that sink in for a bit.

If they are announcing Monday Bobo is prolly out. He's only met with the search committee people in Texas per Seth Emerson. He has yet to set foot in Ft. Collins CO to meet the Prez or view facilities...

Not to say he won't do that on Sat. or Sun. since the players have the weekend off...

If anyone sees Bobo clean-shaven in Athens this weekend thats a clear tell he's been or is going to Ft. Collins for a 2nd interview...
