This is a Kennedy problem. Not a talent problem

We have some pretty talented players on our roster but they are just so poorly coached and have no fire under them. It's time for Kennedy to go.

Just checked the score ... WOW

Never forget the Cutcliff to Orgeron death spiral.
Who can you definitely get who will definitely be better?

Ultimately, he's responsible for the talent level too but at least neither he nor his supporters can use the facilities argument now. Our new coach deserves the opportunity to open the new arena. Not AK, who has been supported beyond what he deserves to include Bjork's genius move of giving him a raise and extension.

Michael White from La. Tech.
And we could get him too because he'd never have to coach a game in the Tad Pad

I pray they don't waste the new arena hype on AK. I'm all for taking risks with our basketball program.

Mike White will end up some place like UNC just watch

Wow we have a game tonight? Shows how much I care about basketball now with coach clown at the helm.

How come people keep saying Michael White? What exactly has he done that deserves to be given this gig besides be a Rebel player?
Also you have to look at MSU as well. We could fire the guy that is the all time winning coach and make the wrong hire and end up with the dumpster fire that is MSU basketball at this point.
I'm not a fan of being horrible. That being said Ole Miss has ZERO basketball history. Hiring a top notch coach would be tough. If you have the right guy, make that call. If you don't have anyone in mind, not sure if you can get that guy, or don't have the resources to get the guy you have to be careful.
To be honest basketball is a far third favorite sport of most fans anyway.

This is a big problem with basketball at ole miss. Not just that it's third but like you said a distant third. Fans don't show up until sec play. If we want a competitive team we need the fan support too.

Exactly. No support. Then fans get upset when the product isn't great. Kennedy has done as about as good of a job as ANYONE can do at Ole Miss.
I understand frustration, but replacing the guy is a HUGE gamble. No one wants to coach here. Why would they? No real fan support and the worst history of all SEC basketball schools in a state that doesn't produce the greatest of talent.

I think the reason for this fan support is the fact that I don't want to show up when I don't know if they'll show up. In our NCAA tourney year, we had lines 3 hours before the game because we knew what we were about to see: a team that would give it all.
That ain't what I'm seeing. I'm seeing a team that fights when it's convenient. I have zero clue what product will be on the floor because we sleepwalk through games like no other. Why would I pay to see that?
Did yall have the same argument in 2011 for football?

Fire AK. Give Michael White the keys to the Pavilion.
It's a fresh start so to speak.

Very well said. Sounds like a good nickname for this years team...
The Sleep Walkers.
They looked like shite against a simple press. Even though they came back the team is still hot garbage. they need to stop loafing around on offense for entire halves. And giving up uncontested shots. Coastal Carolina was shooting around 80% on threes in the first half. The second half they obviously attempted more defense thankfully.
I give Kennedy two more years, let him recruit in the new facility, and try to pull Malik Newman.. If he cant get back to the ncaa a couple times let him go.
Interesting stat during the game tonight.
Andy Kennedy has the 3 rd most wins in his first 7 years of any coach in the history of the sec...

Firing him would be a PR nightmare for Ole Miss.

What games were you watching. That team was the exact same way this team is. They would win a big game and then lose a game they had no business losing. We lost to one of the worst MSU teams ever. Lost to Indiana St. We even lost to a very bad SC team and most people thought that lost would keep us out of the tournament which it would have if we didn't win the SEC tourney. As a matter of fact most thought we had no shot of making it going into the tourney because of the MSU lost late in the season.
People were lining up because we had Marshall Henderson. That team played hard. I think this team plays hard, the chemistry just isn't there yet. That 2012 team had several guys who had played together for a long time.
I think our fan base is funny at times. The answer to everything is to fire someone. Warner needs to be fired. Luke needs to be fired. Bianco needed to be fired, until he won. Kennedy gets fired every year by our fan base. Guy averages 20 wins a year at the worst job in the SEC in basketball and we want to fire him...

How does these two sentences together make ANY sense?

The first statement was my personal opinion.
The second was an intersting fact about our coach that sheds positive light on his coaching tenure Ole Miss.

Thanks for the grammar lesson it was well needed. That being said your personal opinion sounds extremely stupid when you type the sentence you did right underneath it.
