Could our offense be more explosive next year?

With MM, JSW, Ramsey, Sony, Blazevich and IM?

Depends if Brice Ramsey can put it all together. If we have healthy receivers (which we haven't had the last two years), then we have a good chance yes. Gotta like our run game with 4/5 OL coming back but the passing game will depend on Ramsey at the end of the day.

Yes, but don't count on it.

I am more excited about our incoming receivers than the ones we have on the roster right now.
I have high hopes for Big Jeb....
I like Chubb but he's no Gurley
I like Sony but he's no Chubb
I like Isaiah as a return threat, nothing more. He drops passes.
JSW has shown ability, but that was over a year ago. He ain't done shite in 2014.
I'm also not convinced Ramsey earns the starting spot next year.

We'll have a stout, veteran OL. Some veteran proven running backs, both with big play capability and one that may be the best at his position in the SEC. Our fullbacks return and they are outstanding.
We'll have an improving, stronger, Blazevich at TE. McKenzie will continue to improve and become even more dangerous as a return man.
Our WRs should be decent, but we will be counting on some of our super frosh recruits (Godwin, Slayton, Jefferson, et al) to contribute heavily here. If MM returns to form, and JSW returns at all, this will help greatly.
Which leaves QB. Ramsey could be very good. His strong arm, coupled with a speedster like Slayton, could give us the deep threat we lacked all last season, and could open up our run game even more.
Which - again - leaves QB. This will be Ramsey's first year starting, which means mistakes. Lots of mistakes. Every QB in the Richt era (except maybe Green) struggled some his first year. Which is to be expected.
So it comes down to how often and how damaging Ramsey's mistakes are. As long as he limits turnovers, we should be fine and maybe even very good. If he turns the ball over a lot - it will be a very long year.
It's all on Ramsey.
Which means Bobo leaving would probably be bad.

Generic horse shite.
Any team in the SEC (or any team really, it's that generic) could say the same thing.
Fill in the blanks for Ole Miss, Arkansas, South Carolina, Texas AnM, etc.

I certainly expect it to be more explosive and our yards per pass to be much higher. I firmly believe Ramsey wins the job and I've expected huge things out of him since high school. Can't say I felt the same about Mason, Mett or even Murray (he turned out to be great, obviously). I expect Ramsey's arm strength to open up the run game even further, forcing DBs out of the box. I think that can, clearly, benefit Chubb, but specifically Sony. I think we'll see much more of Reggie Davis and Mitchell stretching the defense. If we can find a competent guy at center, then our offense should be very exciting next season. Mason was likely the least talented QB on the roster this year, but gave us the best chance to win at the beginning of the year. The way the season played out, we still had a shot to win the East up until the Friday before the Tech game. It would have been a questionable decision to change QBs midstream to say the least.
With that said, I would expect a lower completion percentage, a lower 3rd down conversion rate, more sacks taken and more turnovers. I think we'll see an offense similar to 2012. Probably less efficient, but probably a more consistent running game given the strength of our OL.

I think a silent weapon next year will be Keith Marshall. With all this time for rehab he have a good chance of getting to 100% and back to his freshman weight where he was explosive as hell. I'm looking forward to seeing him do some things next year

JSW and Keith Marshall will have the season to get up to full speed.
New WRs are nasty, and will play. Veteran offensive line. Quayvon Hicks at FB. Hopefully he stays far away from special teams. Proven tight ends.
Ramsey's ability will detemine the ceiling for next year's offense.

Not even close, but thanks for the effort.
There have been a number of years when we did not return a veteran OL. This year we do. There have been a number of years when we have returned a veteran QB. This year we don't. Many years (and recently) we had no decent punt or kickoff returner, and this year we do, etc., etc., etc.
But hey, if you want to be a grumpy dipshite - don't let me stop you.

While I don't completely agree, in a sense you're correct. Either we perform against USCe, Bama, UT, Mizzou, UF, AU and GT or we don't. Way too early, but I like us to beat USCe, Mizzou, GT and UF. Bama, AU and UT really terrify me though.

Offense will be very good next season, but I believe the defensive secondary will contribute with INTs and give the offense great field position at least once each game. The DL and LBs will also give us a fumble recovery in enemy territory at least once a game. That will give us two free scores a game. 10-14 points above what the offense scores on its own.

The team will be pretty good... The questions still remain, which game or games does UGA lose due to coaching failures or boneheaded mistakes?

I just hope we can find a replacement for Quayvon on KO returns...or teach him how to not be an idiot when the ball is kicked near him.

Why? It could very well be Park that starts.

We will be good enough on both sides of the ball to go 9-3. No way to predict what9 we win or what 3 we lose because there will be at least one inexplicable loss. UF or UT wins the SEC east next year but we will have shot until the last week of the season.

I'd be reluctant to peg UF as a favorite for the East next year. If Humphries eventually declares, then their OL will be a dumpster fire that I expect to be only slightly better than what UT fielded this year. I'm in wait and see mode on their D without Muschamp, especially if Morrison declares. I think McElwain will be good at UF, but not next year.
Mizzou's schedule sets up pretty nice for them. I don't expect a USCe renaissance. I think that program is in trouble. UT will get endless of amounts of unwarranted preseason hype. Their OL still won't be very talented, but they do have some nice skill players and I would expect a solid D. East really looks wide open again next year. Wish we didn't draw AU and Bama, but we have to help ourselves at some point.

Good analysis, Menlo. Getting Mizzou and South Carolina at home is nice. My two cents is that we go undefeated against the East next year but drop the Bama and Auburn games.

Without Gurley UGA can't be more explosive. Depending on the QB we could be more consistent.
