no Ifo Ekpre Olomu means Rashaad Greene has a 200 yard receiving game. The Duck is cooked. Jameis will have a field day throwing the ball.

Yea, when you look at the matchups, Oregon seems like it should be the heavy favorite. They have the personnel to pummel FSU where they're weak (particularly the run game).

So many things wrong with your "thoughts" it's silly. The fact you would take Winston over Mariotta is just the icing on this stupid cake.

I am no fan of the Ducks but this Duck team looks like the best of the bunch. As for being won in the trenches, the Ducks will run circles around FSU's D line. Look at a team like Louiville: they put up a lot of points on the Noles & the Ducks are a lot better team than the Cards. FSU has skated on thin ice all yr long & turnovers against this Duck offense will kick them in the arse.

Sounds like wishful thinking. I would like to see Bama vs Oregon

Losing their best CB will hurt the Ducks but I think they have too much firepower for an FSU team that has been toothless at times this year. If FSU keeps it close going into the 4th then the advantage probably switches to Jimbo and his ability to adjust gameplans on the fly.

Saban has spread QBs figured out (especially the dual threat ones). Nick Marshall, Bo Wallace, Johnny Manziel, Clint Trickett. Owned!

The common denominator between Marshall and Manziel is giant, freak WRs that just straight up beat our DBs.

Bo had a couple of good drives against us, but our defense is not what lost us that game.

Trickett and that offense scored a grand total of 1 TD against us, great example.

Now, I see how you failed to mention all of the spread offenses that Saban has stopped while he has been at Bama.

And the best part is, Mariota is way worse than all of those guys.

Mariota is good, no doubt, but he is far from invincible, and definitely can be stopped.

On a more serious note, Saban would obliterate FSU's offense. A more traditional scheme and a retard at QB (sounds a lot like 2011 LSU amirite!?)

lol, no. You are seriously comparing Jordan Jefferson to a Heisman winning QB? Are you retarded? FSU knows how to win, and they have done nothing but that for two years straight.

quote:

Bama's dominant line play and Saban's exotic blitzes would stuff the run game and bait Mariota into 4 picks.

fify

And unlike 2011 LSU, FSU's defense isn't even particularly good.

I would take FSU's defense over Oregon's without their best player.

FSU is much more physical than Oregon, especially on the line of scrimmage. Mariota will be lucky to make it through the game.

It depends on if FSU shows up to play in the first half or not. The win against GT was their best game of the year, they barely won but Jameis didn't give the ball away as opposed to throwing 5 INTS or whatever and barely beating UF. I don't think Oregon will hang with the speed and physicality for 4 quarters. Their front 4 on D will get owned, too small. FSU wins by a TD.

Didn't they beat Michigan State by 19 points?

I also find it very hard to understand how so many people on an SEC board are so confident in Oregon. This may be their best team but to me it seems identical to the other Oregon teams who were supposed to compete at this level and failed. This team in SEC has a year about like Ole Miss.

Look at the numbers. Their DL has taken it like a plastic frick doll all year long. They were straight-up run over by the RBS from Boston College and Georgia Tech and Louisville. They're barely ranked in the top 60 in run D despite playing a charmin soft schedule against a bunch of mediocre acc teams. This "omg FSU is so physical in the trenches" line is a myth left over from last year.

Oregon doesn't have an all world OL but they're finally healthy again, so they're talented enough to do as well as those three schools.

Oregon losing their best player on defense is a fricking huge blow. He was an All-American cornerback and would've been covering FSU's senior go-to WR.

Great corners are so huge for a defense's ability to be aggressive and play to win instead of not-to-lose.

Exactly. Sabear, you can even get Noles +9. If you're so sure, unload.
I made a big bet the other way. I think the Noles will get run out of Pasadena.

1) In 2 games, receivers not named Evans had about 400 receiving yards against Bama. That's not a 1 trick pony. As for Auburn, I don't think 6'2 210=giant freaks. And Oregon has some decent receivers too.
2) I named the good spread offenses since Oregon is a good spread O. Anyway, my only point, and I stand by it, is that Saban has had much more success defending traditional offenses than HUNH offenses.

Sure, but he'd be the best QB facing Bama since Manziel and he's playing at an insane level right now. Don't know why you'd rather face him than Winston. Mediocre ACC D coordinators have adjusted to Winston this year and his stats have plummeted. His yards/attempt is down about 2 yards, he's thrown 17 interceptions, and his decision making is frequently terrible.

It was a joke. Do I really have to explain that to you?

quote:

Easy to "know how to win" when you're facing junk teams every week. They barely beat Boston College, Florida, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma State, and more. I mean really? You have to get a last minute FG to beat Boston freaking College at home!?

They're 2012 Notre Dame all over again.

I watched many of Oregon's games this year, and they look like the same Oregon teams' of past years, especially now that their best defensive player is out.

What, in your mind, sets them apart from other Duck teams?
