How much of a pay bump do we give Kiffin in the offseason?

Lane only made 680k this year. And it looks like that is all he will make next year. Compare that to what other coordinators such as Smart, Muschamp, and Cameron make. I think he should definitely get a bump after this season. What do you think? Maybe in the 1 mil range?

Well now that we killed UAB's football program we can use that money to give Lane a raise....contingent upon winning the natty of course.

I'd really like for someone to tell me with a straight face that Will Muschamp is worth more than Lane Kiffin...not to mention more than twice as much. Maybe Auburn was more desperate. Maybe Gordon Gecko was right..."a fool and his money are lucky enough to get together in the first place."

if we win the natty with this team, he deserves to be above a million at least. The job he has done this year proves he is one of the best OCs around, and should be paid according to the market conditions. i would like to keep him around for another 2 years or so. I think though that he cant possibly be strapped for money, and perhaps the chance to learn how to see the inner workings of the success machine that is the process is much more valuable to his future.

Yo answered your on question.

We ride Lane's offense to a natty, I am pretty sure Bama steps up to keep him around for awhile.....besides I really don't see anyone knocking down Kiffin's door to hire him again as a head coach right now...that might chnage in a couple of years

Kiff is probably still making a year salary paid monthly by USC for the remainder of his contract. So what he makes at Bama is gravy. I doubt he gets a huge pay raise and I doubt he stays longer then 2 years.

Is there something with his buyout from USC that prevents us from shelling out the cash?

most contracts will deduct their salary from their current employer from what they get in their buyout, so if they were supposed to get 3 mil per year, and then make 1 mil at their new job the old school normally only pays up the difference

Considering the results this year, especially with the improvement shown by Sims, I think we should double his salary.

8.5% for Lane and throw in another 10% for Layla.

I have yet to see one photo of Layla in Tuscaloosa posted online anywhere. Not at BDS. Not at the kids' school. Not even at a fricking grocery store. Surely someone would have put one up if she was in town. Are we paying her a bonus to stay away?

Dammit BGT, I'm not sure what approach to take in a response to a serious question about my sarcastic post. I'll just assume we all know the obvious answer.
