Based on those and my eyes, I'd tier the SEC this way as we get close to conference play
First Tier (Nat'l Title Contender)
Kentucky
Second Tier (Probable NCAA)
Florida
Arkansas
LSU
Third Tier (Bubble)
Georgia
Alabama
South Carolina
Texas A&M
Fourth Tier (NIT but chance of Bubble)
Vanderbilt
Ole Miss
Tennessee
Fifth Tier (non postseason)
Mississippi State
Auburn
Missouri

I like your tiers, but I'm not sold completely sold on Vandy not improving more and or Alabama based on the close loss.

I agree, we will improve on finding more creative ways to lose games.

If we can get 4 teams in the dance I would be surprised.

I'd hate to see Auburn and Missouri if they are worse than MSU in basketball, because we suck it bad.

Not sure why anyone looks at anything other than the NC2A list. That's what the committee will go by.

Because at this point the RPI isn't a very good tool because schedules are still pretty raw and new. BPI and KenPom try to measure how a team has played so far in the season.
By the end of January RPI is a better tool to look at, but not yet.

Last time a team had offensive and defensive efficiency numbers like UK has at the moment was the 2008 Kansas team. Kansas won the natty over Cal that year.

You don't think LSU is a probable NCAA team?
They have wins over UMass and @ WVU and their losses are to Old Dominion (who is going to win 25-30 games, already beat Richmond, LSU, Ga St and VCU) and Clemson (bad loss, but will be a Top 150 RPI). They will be 11-2 going into SEC play with an RPI of around 15-20. They are in good shape.

I get the other variables that apply. Those lists just never look accurate to me. Either way, if the Tigers can escape prolonged injuries to their top 5 guys they will easily make the Dance IMO.
