The only ones deserving would be Gurley and Chubb.

Hard to disagree. Who is deserving to be called best in SEC? Maybe David Andrews... maybe...

Heard an interview about that. Talked about how we have been ok with getting top 10 classes and that isn't good enough in the sec because you'll only be the 4th to 6th most talented and that doesn't get it done. Something ice thought about for years.

Definitely think Greg Pyke or Andrews could have gotten on there.

Record setting offense, and not one All-American.

The next few NFL drafts will tell you otherwise.

No they won't unless the talent level increases.

Alabama and LSU are getting 9-12 kids drafted on a yearly basis. UGA isn't close to that right now. The 2012 UGA team was like that. Guess which UGA team was a contender.

You don't think this roster is loaded with future NFL players?

The max Alabama and LSU have had in the last 5 years in 9 (Bama did it once, LSU twice). We aren't quite at that level, but I really don't think we have room to complain about the number of players getting drafted. Last year's draft was a down year by all standards but it isn't the norm for us.

Not particularly by UGA standards

In this draft:
Gurley - 1st or 2nd
Conley - mid to late rounds
Bennett - late to UDFA
Andrews - late to UDFA
Drew - late to UDFA
Johnson - UDFA
Wilson - mid rounds
Herrera - mid rounds
Swann - late to UDFA depending on how he works out

Only Wilson has been invited to the senior Bowl.

There are younger guys who will be NFL guys obviously, but this wasn't a particularly talented team, especially on defense.

I disagree on Drew. I think he's gonna blow up the combine and get taken between rounds 2-4.

Looking further into it, and speculating a bit....

Floyd- 1st round
Carter- 1st round
Jenkins- 1st/2nd round
Chubb- 1st/2nd round
Rome- 2-4 round after he blows up at the combine.
Theus- 3rd round....maybe
Pyke- Potential 1st round (guards have gone higher in recent drafts)
Michel- 2nd/3rd round
Mitchell- Wild Card. Could go 3rd or so if he proves he can play a full season

I could go on and on with this list.

Tape doesn't lie on Drew. He shows great flashes at times, but I don't see anything that leads me to believe he'll be a consistently productive NFL guy.

Jay Rome needs to step up in a big way to be drafted. He's got tons of ability but needs to stay healthy. A true freshman starts over him.

There are very talented guys in the program. The freshmen class especially looks excellent. However, it's hard to look at UGA's depth chart vs. Alabama's or FSU's and say "man, we're right there with those guys."

There's a ton of talent on offense. On defense, not so much other than OLBs.

Ezekiel Ansah from BYU had 4.5 career sacks and got taken 4th overall because of his combine. Drew won't do that, but it isn't unprecedented.

If Ray Drew goes in the 2nd round I'll eat my hat

Ansah is an exceptionally explosive athlete at that size. Drew is a great athlete, but not that good. I doubt he blows up the combine.

Comparison: Cornelius Washington was unbelievable at the Combine, had better film than Drew, and got picked in the 6th round. Drew is bigger than him, though, so we'll see.

Yea, I think the big difference between Bama/LSU and UGA in the recent drafts has been the OL and DBs getting drafted (more so Bama's OL but DBs for both schools). Maybe DL to an extent as well but I see OL and DB as the areas that we have been furthest behind at. We produce plenty of offensive skill talent.
