Last night, you got a lot of the rah rah stuff from Grant, which is good because a lot of the criticism comes from him being so damn stoic on the sideline. The problem is that if he's begging the team to show intensity in the second half of a close mid-season SEC game that will go a long way to determining our success, then we have much bigger issues.

In Grant's defense, I imagine that ESPN just played the first few seconds of his huddle speeches and didn't want to air him going into actual plays.

That is one of his many problems, he doesn't have any X and O understanding of the game. It is blatantly obvious on our in-bounds plays and last second shott scenarios.

ABSOLUTELY.

I noticed it last night in the first half. Zero Basketball instruction or tactical adjustment.

I think they should fire him now and let Petteway coach the rest of the season as interim head coach...can't be any worse.

Grant's a bust time to move on. Period.

Watching us try to run our offense is like watching two drunk dogs try to frick. Randolph should've dished it with 4.5 seconds left instead of forcing a dumb shot.

Scary, below is what I posted on another Bama site this morning.
"So who was impressed with the basketball wisdom we learned from Grant during the "wired" portions of the game? Exactly what I expected to hear. Rah Rah, lets go guys, give energy, blah blah...."

Well to be fair, he did give them the choice. He said if for them to make up their mind that this was their time. I guess they decided no.

My thought this far in the season was "Well, Alabama just isn't a basketball school. I need to stop getting my hopes up and enjoy being good at football"

But now that I think about it, I think I should be irritated. Because they get so damn close and then it seems like poor coaching blows games for them. Tired of 2 point losses. Tired of watching Alabama passing the ball around the perimeter until the shot clock runs out so they can miss a 3 and turn the ball over. Tired of all the basketball basics being so poorly executed. And I really don't like to dog players or Alabama, I know they try their asses off and it's harder on them than it is me. But it seems to me like Grant has got to work with the players on the basics and fundamentals, and work his way up. I may be way off target here though.

We have the resources to be good at Basketball. If the people in charge could find a competent HC who could make our team winners, the fans would show up. Until the powers that be stop accepting mediocrity for the sake of "Hey we are good at football!" then nothing will change. UA has proved time and time again to only care about money, so they should want to spend top dollar for the best coach, in order to put asses in the seats.

For fricks sake, basketball tickets are free and students still don't show up.

The fact that softball and gymnastics brings a bigger crowd than basketball ever has is an indictment in and of itself.
