I don't hate Mizzou. Some Mizzou posters on here who are not the best reps for their school leave a lot to be desired tho.

I keep hoping for better days ahead. Part of it may be the loss of "colorful" SEC coaches in the old days made them entertaining and got more media buzz.

Alabama isn't total garbage this year We beat Nebraska a week or so ago.

Very proud of our Lady Vols - they not only thrashed Stanford and came away with an upset but also showed their true potential. They finally played the way we all knew they could and should.
Seriously, hoping they've finally turned the corner and won't regress and I get the feeling they've done just that. But who knows. I've been wrong before to be sure.

I'm looking forward to the SC game, especially if they stay on top. They're a shooting team whereas we're a rebounding team. Hoping like hell we can improve our shooting even more.
So many good teams in the SEC this year! Kudos to all.

The west has finally gotten it together and back to the old days when Alabama and Auburn had Final Four type programs only this go round it may be the MS schools. State is already looking on the upswing and Ole Miss may still be 2 - 4 years away.

Both teams are pretty close together in terms of rebounding. USC is a pretty stout rebounding team in it's own right, at 43.1 rpg (compared to UT at 47.5 rpg). USC had a 3-gm rebounding slump in consecutive gms where they fell below 40 rebounds each game. They are the only gms that USC failed to pull 40+ boards in. The Duke game was understandable as they are a great rebounding team and actually are one of the few teams in WCBB that out-size USC. But the UNC-Central & Charlotte gms I have no answer why we didn't dominate the boards.
But the other 8 gms the team has averaged 45.8 rebs per game, and have averaged 50.7 rpg in their last 3 gms post-Duke. So I expect to see their rebounding average continue to rise...
The signature for Dawn Staley's teams have always been elite defense: the past 3 seasons USC's scoring defense has been ranked in the top 10 nationally, although last season it dipped slightly out of top-5 caliber. This season thus far it's back to #2 nationally, behind only Kansas St's scoring D.
USC has improved substantially in other team defensive areas, such as steals per game (10.8 spg vs only 5.9 spg last season), and blocked shots, while also improving offensively and in assist-to-turnover ratio: last season USC was ranked 89th nationally in assists per game, 71st in TOs per gm, and 58th in Assist:TO ratio. Thus far this season we're 6th nationally in assists per gm, 14th in TOs per gm, and 3rd in Assist:TO ratio. Add to that an improvement thus far from 63rd in scoring offense to 25th nationally, and USC is a more balanced team than any of Coach Staley's past ones at USC...

IMO a good game to watch will be USC vs MSU, although that will come late in the season (Feb. 26th). The top scoring offense (thus far) against the top scoring defense (thus far). Plus MSU is also a great rebounding team with great shot blockers.
UK is the 2nd best scoring team with their "fastest offense in WCBB" system. We play them in Columbia on Jan. 11th, the next "big game" for us, or at least the next ranked opponent. That will also be a good one to watch. I will definitely see how they do versus Duke tomorrow, to get an idea of how well they play against that type of height and size in the post. The biggest marquee game tomorrow no doubt will be versus Texas A&M and Texas: huge in-state rivalry between two top programs. It should be a good one to watch...
