While certainly you could be right, it is not unusaul for a recruit to choose a program base solely on an assistant coaches ability to coach up a particular position.

SCe has had six - 4* players decommit since SOS made his 2-3 more years comment. High profile (4-5*)players almost always make their decisions based on the coaches & how they run their program & promises made to the recruit and not their "love" of the school...

Of course there are always a handful that will wanna play for good ole UGA come hell or high water but not as many as you would think. These kids don't think the same way we fans do...

Why would it matter do you think MB is an irreplaceable light bulb?

I think he's a major part of our program and his loss would be a big deal, Barbs.

Agree. If this is an issue of paying him more money, I don't see why we wouldn't pay him more. He consistently churns out top offenses. If we let him go, what would we do? Try to find someone else who would also churn out top offenses? He does exactly what we need in the system that Richt wants.

Georgia's recruiting for offensive players is a gravy train right now, and Bobo is a huge part of that. He deserves to get paid much more...call it a premium for being basically guaranteed a solid offense every year.

I work with people from all geographies in the US and from all regions of the world.

I may speak like a slack jawed hick moran, but I am smarter than most and haven't had any problems. Except for guys from the UK. Everyone of those has been a problem.

We just need to give Bobo the major payraise he deserves and move on. I don't see him leaving for CSU if we pay him like a top 3 SEC coordinator. You are right in that offensive recruiting has never been better and we continue to get elite prospects because of Bobo. There are only a handful of coaches in the country who can coach and recruit as well as Bobo.

It's funny when atlantans and other yankees make comments like this........as if they don't have some sort of accent themselves.

As if talking through your nose in robot-mode with a stick up your arse sounds pleasant and intelligent.

Give me a fricking break.....

Hey, hey, hey, hey. I'm from Metro-Atlanta and I'm not a yankee and neither are any of my people. Don't lump us all in together like that.

Gurley and Chubb were both 4 star recruits. Some didn't even have Gurley as a top 5 RB coming in. Think Bobo deserves any credit for turning two 4 star RB's into the best in the nation?

Enh... those rankings aren't exactly scientific. They're just guesses at how people will do based on a fairly limited body of work at a much lower level.

Agreed, rankings can be a crapshoot. I was just responding to the guy who thinks Bobo is spoon-fed talent and he deserves no credit for developing it.

If he goes to Colorado all his kids will end up being potheads so stay in Athens where that never happens.

Rig might have point in reference SEC head coaches...how come
most SEC coaches are from the Midwest or have Midwestern roots?

Only 3 from the south that I can think of are Freeze,Mahlzan and OBC

I remember back in the 70's and 80's just about every SEC
coach had southern roots and a pretty distinct accent.

Here's the UGA coaching staff alone.....

Mark Richt - Grew up in Florida
Mike Bobo - Georgian
Jeremy Pruitt - Alabamian
Tony Ball - Tennessean
Bryon McLendon - Born in Chicago because his Georgian father was there playing for the Bears. Moved back to Georgia when that was over like a sane person would.
Will Friend - Missippian
Kevin Sherrer - Alabamian
Tracy Rocker - Georgian

That's everyone but two coaches (a midwesterner and a West Virginian), unless you want me to get into the support staff.

All good things must come to an end.....

The previous generations built the foundation of something special. Now, it's being carpet-bagged and exploited into play-offs, and SEC Networks, and zillion dollar coaches and all the rest that will eventually turn it into a mini yankee NFL.

When it happens officially, just change the name to the 'Atlanta Bulldogs' and get it over with.....

This sucks.

All of the regional accents are dying out, sadly. Noo Yawk, Joyzee, Jawja, Missippi.....it's all becoming a modified version of Midwestern. It was slow at first, but the trend has accelerated a lot over the last 15-20 years.

SEC HEAD COACHES.Jesus the example of coaches I gave
were HEAD COACHES...did you not figure it out?

WGAS where asst coaches on our staff come from?

Say what you want but it appears SEC schools aren't exactly
in business of hiring locals when it comes to hiring HEAD
FOOTBALL COACHES...the only HEAD FOOTBALL COACHES
from south in SEC are as follows:FREEZE (HEAD FOOTBALL COACH
Ole Miss)Mahlzan (HEAD FOOTBALL COACH Auburn)Spurrier
(HEAD FOOTBALL COACH South Carolina)...also left out Kevin
Sumlin in the previous post but he doesn't exactly fit the prototype of
the old school SEC HEAD COACH if you know what I mean

Don't you live out West somewhere?

I get that the Southern migration of yankees and midwestern milk toasts continues to accelerate, and that the cancer of atlanta continues to spread....... but multi-generational deep rooted native Georgians are alive and well, thanks.

And we're not going anywhere.

Of course I figured it out, dipshit. You listed them by name.

That's why I took it a step further and listed their staffs

You seem very touchy and sensitive about your yankeeness though. So, at least there's that.

Once again, has nothing to do with my point

Mark Richt...grew up in Florida

LMAO!So you consider someone born in Nebraska
and raised in Boca a southerner?Since when?
He'd never pass YOUR smell test for a
southerner in a million years.

Born in Richmond raised in Georgia..so there's that.

I personally think its kinda strange that 10 outta 14 of
the SEC HEAD COACHES (give or take) aren't from
the region or have much in the way of southern roots.

I never said that. I pointed out that he was raised in florida. Mark Richt is not a Southerner, but he has manners and fits in better here than most atlantans do.

Also, he visits the tanning booth regularly which shows that he's embarrassed of his midwestern milk toast pasty-face. That shows me humility.

I've done multiple threads on this board about this topic before. If you ask politely, I'll think about explaining this phenomenon, as well as it's roots and it's causes, to you.
