Maybe it's just leverage and nothing else. Maybe it's him getting interview experience so that he can know what to expect in the future when he seeks out other opportunities. Maybe he is genuinely interested. I do know I've seen him quoted before saying he'd like to head coach somewhere some day. We don't really know what his intentions are with CSU.
What I do know is that him interviewing for a HC job elsewhere is hard to spin in a positive manner and very easy to spin in a negative manner. As previously pointed out, even if he does decline an offer, it still impacts our recruiting. Recruits need to know who's going to be coaching them and coordinators interviewing elsewhere introduces a lot of uncertainty. A lot of our strong recruiting has been attributed to Bobo.
I do think Bobo is underpaid. If this is only leverage because the school isn't willing to pay him what he deserves, then I think that's a black mark for our administration.

That is what I believe.

He'll be one of several interviewing, but UGA needs to do what it takes to keep him here. He's very important to the program.
I think we're probably talking somewhere in the $1M-$1.2M range based on the current high-level coordinator market. Maybe higher

Never said it wasn't a nice place to live. I have friends that live in CO. I just don't see it happening.

The administration already has plenty of black marks. As far as recruiting goes, yes it can be used against uga, but no more than the other negative tactics that are already used against us.

I feel like Richt is a figurehead, Pruitt is a dickhead, and Bobo will return to Georgia in a couple years at CMB

but I don't think Bobo is as concerned about his salary as some of the fans are.
I agree, however at that level sometimes it becomes a matter of pride/ego. That's why a baseball/basketball/football player will often ask for a cotract equal to another playe +$1....it's a matter of respect. We all have egos and we all want a certain amount of respect, so I suspect he will ask for, and receive a decent raise.

While true they are showing signs of loosening the purse strings....IPF...Pruitt. Both very positive steps. Hopefully it will continue.

If he does leave Athens-Clarke County will have to shut down an elementary & middle school. Property taxes will prolly go up too with that many people leaving the county at one time...

You have shitty instincts. Bobo's goal, just like any coach's goal, is to get as stinking filthy rich as possible while coaching football.
Bobo is still very young in terms of coach-age. HIs patience and RIcht's loyalty are going to pay off huge down the road. Whether it lands him his dream job at Georgia or as HC or a coordinator somewhere else making millions.
Bobo has played his hand to perfection so far, imo...........

Jesus, so your judging Mike Bobo's entire career off one moment? Yea,forget about his records set for yardage and points in '11,'12 and '14.Was he freakin responsible for SC running up and down the field on us? You gotta a better OC in the history of UGA FB? Not saying I want em as my HCIW but it's freakin moronic to deny his success as an OC .
The devil is in the details. He has had by far the most talented offensive roster in UGA history.

I wonder if he had something to do with that

How many of those recruits do you think we got as a direct result of Bobo reeling them in? You think Richt recruited Stafford and Eason by himself?
