What is the concern about? I thought JJ threw such a catchable ball that we might use walk-ons at WR next year.

Something to think about…the further you get away from the football the less the players matter when it comes to the success of your team.

I mean, look at Georgia with Aaron Murray. They had a great QB, a great RB and just solid non-spectacular WRs and their offenses were always really good. I could see ours being like that with JJ, Jovon and Roc

Agreed. Outside of Obamanu and Aromashadu we really haven't had many NFL caliber players at WR yet we had solid and dependable contributers. Blake, Zachary, Darvin, Cortney Taylor, Ronnie Daniels, etc. because we ran the ball well and had a QB that could deliver a catchable ball.

Lashlee talked Myron Burton up today. Sounds like he's hungry after spending the season on the scout team.

Here's the al.com story on it.

Blake, Zachary, Darvin,

Didn't one of these guys leave early when he shouldn't have and it caused some bad blood with him and the school/coaching staff because he really wasn't ready. Or maybe it was something else, but I have a vague memory that one of them doesn't hold AU in high regard. Don't think it was Emory. Maybe one of the others?

Darvin left early before he was ready. Had little to do with the coaching staff but because he wasn't going to be academically eligible to play the next year without serious help and had a daughter.

Darvin was the only one who left early. Blake & Zachery played 4 years at Auburn.

So no bad blood between him and the school as far as anyone knows...? Thanks for clearing up.

At least he still has a career in Toronto right? I know the money does not compare, but that should be enough to help take care of his daughter, correct?

If Ricardo Louis could put it all together, he could be a draftable prospect. I'm willing to bet he runs in the low 4.4s, and does so at an intriguing size of 6'2 215 pounds. He has a pretty high vertical jump (as evidenced by his catch against Kansas State) and is a load to bring down. He's also very quick and agile for a guy his size.

I just don't think he has it all upstairs. He seems to lack some vision while running the ball. His hands are questionable. He makes crucial mistakes during a lot of big moments. He just seems like one of those "dumb" players, and Auburn seems to have more than a couple.

But hey, who knows? Quan Bray improved a TON as a senior in comparison to his freshman, sophomore and junior seasons...

If he just had ball skills he would be a 1st round pick. He is a WR who can play like a RB and still have the agility to move like a talented WR. Those are rare.

He just can't catch. Vision with the ball isn't super important for a WR. He does just fine on screens after he has the ball

No doubt. An early catalyst to the long string of dominant SEC receivers of recent years.

No he wasn't. Left early for the draft and never made it. That was my point, though, is we can have tremendous passing success without an NFL caliber WR.

Give JJ two receivers as good as Darvin and JJ will give us a SEC Championship.

Ehh, I'll have to disagree there... I've seen him take a screen pass and run into the back of his blocker, when there was a hole or lane around him, on numerous occasions.

I am cautiously optimistic about him being more consistent next year. I still don't understand why everyone worries so much about WR.
