frick my group text has been annoying all morning. They all think we are getting Ed O. I'm currently prop betting them and 5 to 1 odds. Lay 20 to win 100 if we get Coach O. I think some are going to bite.

That's what happens when you hire the "Next big thing".

I would be pretty shocked if we got Orgeron. It would really brighten my offseason though.

I'm extremely frustrated by Collins moving on and Mullen not taking this opportunity to fly the coop.

Mullen is the one who should be leaving.

Then answer me why would Mullen NOT take this opportunity, this is his only chance to get out on a real positive note.

It's because they aren't calling, nobody else wants him. That's why.

Good opportunity to tell my favorite Coach O story.

I was dating an Ole Miss gal from Tupelo. She liked to go to Oxford for dinner on a regular basis. We went and had dinner and then went to a bar upstairs on The Square. Coach O was up there running around and talking with people. He comes by our table and starts talking to us. After a while, he holds up his empty glass, gets our waitress' attention, and signals another round for the table. After the drinks come, he wanders off to go to another table. The girl says, "That was nice of him." Yes, it was, but he put the drinks on my tab.

You have gone head over heels retarded. No coach is leaving the SEC, it's the only conference in CFB and they want to compete with the best. We will pay Mullen more than anyone else because he is proven here and worth more to us than he is to anyone else. He has more talent returning next year than he has had any year of his tenure.

Next year is the year to jump if he wants to do so.

He could enjoy coaching the team he built? There are a million reasons.

You need to put that into perspective. Mullen is making more than Brady Hoke did. Let that sink in. One of the best jobs ever in CFB pays less than MSU does.

Ok ok. You guys make a lot of sense.

So basically we are a destination job, more appealing than Michigan with all of their football legacy, tradition, and lore.

You act like the college landscape has not changed at all. Do you think Michigan 15 years ago would have had this much trouble finding a coach? What about Nebraska? Some teams aren't as desirable to coach for as they once were.

Is MSU a destination job? No. Is it a way more attractive job than when Mullen first took over? Yes.
