I don't think it's a secret that Tennessee offense was exponentially better with Dobbs at QB. Butch saw Dobbs every day at practice. Why did he not recognize this? Were it not for the Worley injury, Tennessee would not be bowl eligible. Is Butch counting on being this lucky his entire tenure?

Why? They could've won two more games this year with him at QB. He's a sophomore.

Butch can't be this dumb.

They tried to redshirt him last year too. His parents wanted a redshirt year.

Not sure if 100percent true. But heard when Dobbs originally flipped, his parents wanted a year for him to redshirt and focus on academics. They tried last year but Worley was hurt and then again they tried this year but the same thing happened. That's why they started Peterman at bama and also why Peterman played against UGA when worley missed a qtr. They were trying to keep their promise to his parents for a redshirt. But butch knew we wouldn't get to 6-6 with peterman playing the last few games.

Dobbs sucks, bro. Did you even watch the Mizzou game. If UTK continues to count on guys like dobbs at that position, they'll lose another 10 in a row to UF and 5 in a row to uga. UTk is a sht hole.

Worley was clearly one of the best QBs in the league this year despite the OL. May not be saying much I know. Dobb's shows promise, but how many good defenses did he face. Mizzou at best.

Dobbs did not look good in practice, he still don't look good in practice, but he performs better in a real game, a gamer, he is.

Be prepared for every excuse under the sun from UT fans. After all, Butch Please is awesome with cliches and slogans and has demonstrated he is a great recruiter by closing on legacies and fanboys. Facts are, Butch is a dbag and will be exposed for the fraud he is in 2015...#noexcuses

Butch needs to prove his worth by winning at least 8 games next year, anything below that and he will be in a very hot seat.

What a dumbfrick. It's really simple, they wanted to redshirt Dobbs and they went with the senior QB that outperformed all of the other QBs in practice. Worley got hurt so they were forced to burn Dobbs redshirt.

Its amazing that folks think frosh or inexperienced qbs are the answer. Worley never had a chance with the OL suckage. You don't win with qbs, rbs or wrs...you win with OL & DLs first and foremost. As already stated...UT has always had a backloaded schedule with UK and Vandy etc etc. Put Dobbs in for the Bama game as a starter and he would have been just as bad or worse...its one thing to come in late in the game...another to start it.

Like stated above, when Dobbs flipped from ASU, I would bet the coaching staff promised his parents he would get a year to redshirt to focus on academics.

I believe that's why the Coaches started Peterman against Bama, to see if he could get something going and if not they would be forced to burn Dobbs' redshirt for the second consecutive year.

He came in the third series, I think it was 21-0 at that point and Peterman only had like 2 completions for I think 11 yards and had a sack. Dobbs came in midway through the 1st Qtr after Peterman, once again, was a no show.

The plan was to play both according to the broadcasters. I listened to Vol Calls every week while my kid was practicing soccer and Butch claimed throughout the season that Dobbs wasn't getting it done in practice

He played a total of like 6 snaps. It was known he wouldn't play the whole game. This was done for a reason

Dobbs wasn't playing because Jones considered this to be another throwaway year.
