With cooper, Yeldon, and sims gone alone with a few O lineman, can the offense be even better next year? Average 585 yards of offense, 42+ ppg? Would like to see Coker have 3700 yards passing and the backfield combine for 3000 yards rushing.

We know the O line can be better (already been discussed in another thread) but what about the offense as a whole?

I think the offense as a whole will be just as good, maybe better.

Coker may not end up being as good as Sims, but he's a more physically talented QB.

Drake should hopefully be with us all season.

Howard comes back, plus we have a bunch of talented WRs that'll be playing. Kiffin should be the OC.

We'll be fine on O, imo.

It mostly comes down to stats and how he handles the mental part of the position. I think there is no doubt that he's more talented, but does he make the right reads? Can he rally the team around him with a different type of leadership? Seems to be more of a "by example" guy. Always seems focused on the sideline, never really trying to hype anyone up.

BIG boost to his confidence if we go into the Spring with him being the undisputed #1. If the other guys are going to try to unseat him, make it more of an unspoken thing.

Don't think it will be as "explosive" , hard it imagine it being better in that regard. Might be better running the ball and dominating the LOS. Hopefully that will happen. I will be happy if the passing attack is close and doesn't drop off too much with the loss of Coop and Sims.

There are a few things that we simply can't know right now, that will determine how successful the offense will be in terms of helping the team win.

For one, it won't have to be as good as this year's offense, statistically. It could be inferior but more consistent. This years offense has sputtered at bad times, and has even gone full games playing mediocre football. If next year's offense can get back to running at will, it can really help in those times where nothing happens on O for quarters at a time.

One thing that will be near impossible to replicate will be the ability for the QB to stay on schedule when plays break down. Sims has really helped his own cause by turning potential 3rd and 8s to 3rd and 2 or 3 with is running. And he's picked up HUGE first downs when shite otherwise hit the fan.

If the defense can again be a dominant Alabama defense, the offense SHOULD be good enough to put the team in a position to make the playoff.

The most important piece in our offense will be back. Cooper is right...Kiffin is an absolute, effing genius.

If the players (a) buy in to Kiffin, (b) work their asses off, and (c) develop the chemistry needed to be successful, then hell yes, the offense can be even better.

I have become convinced even more over the last few weeks that Kiffin (a) is the best QB coach in practice, (b) the best game planner, (c) and the best play caller there is. If there's anyone better, I haven't seen it.

Seriously...is everyone else as giddy as me about Kiffin vs. Muschamp, Chapter 2?

The potential is definitely there. Will they produce will be the question but I think under Kiffin they will.

QB this spring either Coker steps up or someone like Cornwell challenges for the spot. Either way any QB that will start next fall will already have a year under Kiffin and not concerned with it.

WR yes we will miss Cooper but White was never 100% and C Jones was inconsistent all season. I think Ridley coming in the spring will get him into the lineup early combined with Black(break out year), Sims, Foster, Falkins, Stewart, and Kief. Our WR corps will be the best(experience and depth) under Saban across the board.

RB we will see improvement. Once Drake went down we really never had 3 RBs game ready. Jones and TP both got some reps but in the past Saban seemed to rely on a 3 RB rotation and it was not there this season. Jones looks like he is ready to break out. Maybe the spring will push TP to finally step up. Bo will also be added to the mix.

We are going to be explosive next year. Drake for Heisman.

it quite possibly could be more explosive next year. the ball gets spread around more. plenty of weapons. harder to defend multiple targets. just a thought

Based on what? There would have to be some compelling arguments to have no doubt Coker is better. I don't know if I buy that.

It'll be more simple and way more run oriented imo. Also, while the line will be somewhat inexperienced, I think they'll be more physical than this years oline. Give them time to gel together, and develop that chemistry and they could be dangerous.

I think a big part of the problem with Coker in Kiffin's offense is that Coker has a lot slower delivery. That slow delivery pretty much kills the bubble screens that Kiffin lives and dies by. He might be able to make the "harder" throws down the field better (though Sims deep balls are a thing of beauty) but his shorter throws take too much time to get there giving the DBs too much time to react.

I think Drake will be back, but I don't know how he is going to recover from his injury.

As a whole, I think our offense will be about the same as far as production goes. We will bring back Kelly and Robinson, so I'm not overly concerned about the offensive line especially since we have seen the backups play some meaningful snaps. Running back is stacked again. Stewart and Sims both got a lot of PT and at least Stewart made the most of it. Chris Black should be a solid target in the slot.

The big thing for me is how our QB will play whoever he may be. For the sake of argument, I'm going to assume Coker, but that is just an assumption. He has all of the arm tools needed to be successful, but Blake had those too. I don't think he is as good of a runner as Blake, so he might not have avoided as many sacks as Blake was able to. Also Blake seems to have the clutch gene which is something we don't know if Coker has.

1st Coker is not physically more talented... he's bigger with a strong arm and can run... Blake is the most talented QB we've ever had as crazy as that may sound to some.

I think we will be more run oriented next year.. I like what I've seen in our OL backups so I'm not worried there at all.

We have a lot of skill talent and I'd like to see most of it used.. we didn't have to highlight coop as much as we did, I would have like to have seen more guys get more touches that's one thing that AJ and Nuss did well.

Lastly Kiffin gets way too much credit for Blake's development. That was about 95% Blake and the QB coaching he got in the spring and summer. Kiffin has already said it wasn't his doing fwiw... Kiffin is a very good play caller but he tends to get real cute with plays and kills momentum sometimes. He's done better as the season progressed tho.. also I'm assuming he was trying to give DCs something else to prepare for but some of those plays were weird.

We'll probably be a better run play action team if Coker or Morris win out.. if it's Bateman we may see more of this year's offense. I'm hoping it's Morris or Bateman myself but Coker could have a big senior year.
