Fundamentals have been lacking for years. His scheme is going to be more exciting for recruits, i.e. what will prepare players for the NFL, and will be more exciting to watch. Which one of these aspects are you looking forward to more?

Fundamentals. It wasn't Johnson's 4-2-5 that failed but the implementation. 4-2-5 is alive and well all over the country and run by some of the most successful defenses

Fundamentals...

No dumb mistakes, no holding my breath every pass play knowing there's a good chance one of our DBs blew coverage harder than Kim Kardashian.

FUNDAMENTALS.

Tired over diving at ankles.

Run through and wrap.

Tired of trying for the sports center knockout hit.
Get the guy with the ball on the ground.

I couldn't agree more. The 4-2-5 is a great scheme concept that is really flexible but our defense seriously lacks discipline and fundamentals and has since Chizik took over. I am just hoping that Muschamp instills discipline and has our defense taking good angles and form tackling. Would be great to see again.

But hasn't the 4-2-5 been criticized because NFL typically runs either a 3-4 or a 4-3 thus not appealing to recruits whose ultimate goal is the NFL?

Although I say fundamentals, I do hope we begin recruiting guys who already have a solid foundation of fundamentals before they even get to Auburn.

the big nickel is run by several teams. It might not be their base defense but it is run a good bit.
