1. Kirby Smart
2. Kirby Smart
3. Kirby Smart

I might settle for Lawing back and a new LB coach though.

We don't just need a DC, we need a succession plan. There's Kirby Smart and then nobody else. We can get him and solidify ourselves as an SEC heavyweight or hire an Ellis Johnson or whoever and sink back to mediocrity.

I'm somewhat hopeful that all the reports a/b us not pursuing Muschamp THAT hard means we have an ace up our sleeve. Please God.

Maybe not for HCIW but how about if Miles goes to Michigan, what about bringing Chavis back home to SC?

With the '2-3' comment still out there, we need to do something.

Please. Spurrier doesn't recruit players, why would he recruit coaches?

I just hope someone kicks him in the arse and tells him he fricked shite up by saying hes only gonna be here 2-3 more years and now we've got to get someone to replace him on staff.

And Bubba isn't a fricking option

Muschamp, or his representatives, had conversations with USC but was never offered a job with the Gamecocks. He reportedly was offered the defensive coordinator’s job at Texas A&M, and he interviewed earlier this week for the head coaching job at Houston.

Definitely no ace up the sleeve

Bubba won't be named the successor. He hasn't done anything exceptional in the 10 seasons he's been here. Too many people know and are vocal about that, it won't happen.

Forgot about Chavis. I also think we have zero chance to get Kirby Smart.

well all the gas has been poured, now it's a guessing game as to who strikes the match on our eventual dumpster fire.

Wow .... interesting.

Who are the people who could prevent it from happening and what has Bubba done to piss them off?

I would literally rather get kicked square in the dick than have Jr as the next head coach. Holy jesus!

Bubba has underperformed for the amount of talent we've brought in. He's also been a marginal recruiting coordinator the past 3 seasons and he's about to lose a lot of talent from his 4th season. He scheduled 3 in-home visits for December. He never had Spurrier visit Palmer, we lost Palmer. He approved offers to all the DE's that didn't qualify last year, and didn't work in a contingency plan for them not qualifying.

I don't have any faith in him as a recruiting coordinator. I see other schools out there doing a better job. I have seen far more people on all these SC boards claim how they do not want Jr as a successor. I have rarely seen anyone say that he is going to be the successor and be happy about it. Jr doesn't have enough public support to become the successor.

Why does it feel like we are seriously about to go back into rebuild mode? If HBC is really only going to give 2-3 more years max, is there any of our inside guys that have any shed of light to share for a future plan?

We blew the '15 recruiting class b/c of the '2-3' comment, and an ineffective recruiting coordinator. We will not have a Top 25 recruiting class for '16 unless we change something. Who's going to want to come here knowing the staff is going to change in 2-3 years, but not knowing who is going to takeover.

Now that the comment is out, the succession plan must be made. Muschamp was not it. There are no internal guys that could do it. GA Mangus could've been the guy had he not pissed in public. he could've been the Recruiting Coordinator, or Offensive Coordinator and getting ready for that move.

We aren't going to get a HC from another school to say a year out that he's coming here, his other school would have a shite fit.

We're going to need to look around to see who's out there and not coaching right now (like a Gruden.) I hope we get a younger coach this go round, but I think Tanner is going to the best that he can. May not be his 1st choice, but he's going to swing for the fences.

I trust Ray Tanner, and I would like to hope that he has a plan in place. The last few weeks have just been super frustrating. We will make it through this, just doesn't seem like it right now.

Jr is in talks with Stoops and Kentucky about their OC job. Riley from ECU is probably the lead candidate...but anything is possible. I hope he gets that job, he needs to move out of his dad's shadow.

I am really starting to think spur is hanging it up after the daffy duck bowl. Just a hunch. I kind of hope he does too.

Durkin is out at uf, they just brought in miss st's DC. So that would lead me to believe he's bringing in his own staff and that Brad Lawing may soon be available.

Spurrier has fumbled this whole situation. I mean seriously, WTF are we doing? I see no plan in place in any aspect of our program. Hell, our AD seems to be in awe of Spurrier and enabling him to crash and burn what he built. Someone needs to take the horns and grab a hold of this whole situation or else we're going back to 2005 when Holtz left.
