I think most Ags nowadays agree with you. I don't think they even sell Any of their saw em off stuff at AA anymore.

That's a good sign. I'm all for hating t.u.--but I prefer loving TAMU more.

Interesting to watch--the tenor of the student body has already started to change from what I can tell. Seems more and more of 'em every year are of the, ahem, "frick lsu" mindset.

This pleases me

Good. As much as I'd like to play texas again (and I might be in the minority) after reading about some of the dealings between the NCAA infractions committee and the longhorns back in the 80's when everyone who beat them like a drum was getting hemmed up, I don't think we could ever play them and get a fair shake. It wasn't just refs, it was a systematic workover from the word 'go' at every level they could use to ensure that texas would never have to play fair.

The rest of the SEC just doesn't get it, and there really isn't a comparison to any other conference anywhere/anytime. The SWC was built from the beginning to center around texas, one big brand name school (arkansas wasn't that big in those days) and a bunch of little local private colleges and a tiny military academy. When texas had their first real slump in the 80s, suddenly everyone else was cheating, which had nothing to do with the fact that the NCAA infractions committee started most of the investigations into SMU, A&M, etc. while a texas alum was head of the committee. I often wonder if DKR, and all the others who created this situation where Texas was on an escalator and everyone else was on a treadmill, would kick Dodds arse for giving up all those advantages in not running our SEC move.

If Ohio State formed a conference with the following schools, it would be the equivalent of what texas did:

Ohio
Miami (Ohio)
Toledo
Bowling Green
Cincinnati
Akron
West Virginia

WVU and cincinnati have had some success, and tOSU would have had a down period every once in a while, but no one's fooled with the strength of that lineup. Yet I might have just described the Big12 as it is now.

Dodds' LHN move was a classic over-reach born of hubris. The LHN is operation Barbarossa. The winter set in before they made Moscow and now they're fighting a two front war under the leadership of a guy who's lost his marbles.

If Charles Wright was still alive, Dodds' effort would have succeeded

So A&M is the USSR? Fits in well with our architecture. OU can play the part of Vichy France, and the rest of the Big12 is Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, Bulgaria, etc.

If we're going to equate teams to WWII nations:

t.u. = Nazi Germany
A&M = England
Remainder of the conferences = USSR
SEC = U.S.
Missouri = Occupied France
OU = Vichy France
Baylor = Arab Nations
Texas Tech = Italy

The typing text boxes suck. Any time you try to copy + paste anything, it inserts a bunch of carriage returns for no real reason. I also don't like the pop up post windows. Prevents you from saving text while using the forward and back buttons. When you hit escape from either a "quote" or "reply" message, you lose all your text.

It's a "prettier" UI, but it still has some major functionality issues.

But he does lose his cool like a little child on Texags way to much. People post stupid stuff so then delete the post and ban the user if needed WITHOUT comment. But he becomes child like and has to do his thing. It is embarrassing for a grown man that is a business owner

Yea. The whole M&W circle jerk is so dumb. First, I don't understand how a guy who owns + runs an internet business can have such thin skin. It's the web. Everybody's an a-hole. Second, I don't get his long-winded ban rants. Some anonymous chump insulted you on the internet. WGAF? And finally, I don't get the purportedly grown men who, after a public banning, howl and post lustily like they just watched a snuff film.

I also hate how you can't tell if a post has been editted unless you scroll in the bottom right corner with your mouse next to the objection flag. It makes things hella confusing sometimes when you have read a post that has been editted multiple times yet it doesnt say "this post has been editted by Houston Summit"

I very rarely access Texags with my phone, but those that do (or are thinking about it) might be interested in this from Stewade.
