I just saw where Kentucky was getting two 4 star transfers from the Huskers at LB and TE. Things must be a real mess there.

I know Kentucky is new to football but this happens often when coaches leave and new coaches are hired at big schools.

Why did they hire Mike Riley? Oregon State upgraded getting rid of him and getting Gary Anderson.

Lol, 67-27 record and they are firing the coach??? Who do they think they are, Alabama? For comparison, Kentucky hasn't had a coach who left with a cumulative record over .500 since the 1950s.

I don't think they fired Pelini for his on the field accomplishments.

They fired him because he is a giant a-hole, I think.

Nebraska is one of the all-time great programs in college football history, so, yeah, they consider themselves on par with UA. There is a pretty strong case for their doing so:

All-time record 874–360–40 (.702)
Postseason bowl record 25–25 (.500)
Claimed national titles 5 (1970, 1971, 1994, 1995, 1997)
Unclaimed national titles 9 (1915, 1921, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1993, 1999)
Conference titles 43
Division titles 10 (1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012)

Not too shabby.

Hard to see how they maintained that for so long given Nebraska produces very few home state blue chip recruits. Most of the other top programs sit in areas stocked full of homegrown talent.

Thanks. That helped. A lot.

In all candor, many of the great programs have gone through dry spells, most of them crawl out of their funk.

Nebraska will be back.

They just fired a popular player's coach and hired a mediocre replacement. Recent commits are pissed. Not rocket science.
