Yeah, doubt we have much of a chance, but I think we have a very slight shot. His dad not coming on the OV killed us. Really wish he wasn't an EE. I feel 100% different about Daylon though.

Will he commit to Sumlin without a DC?

Both our side and Texas' side think he's committing to us. Hopefully

I don't know why. Daylon himself said that us getting malik would go a long way

I don't think texas is as sold on getting him as they thought they would be after his OV last weekend. Right now Id say 45% A&M, 35% Texas, 10% UCLA, and 10% LSU. If Foster is hired I'd be surprised if he doesn't choose A&M.

Texas & A&M both seem to feel good about their respective chances.

Should be interesting

I think his problems with the current state of the Aggie defense run way too deep for one player committing to swing him all the way back. And since it appears as though y'all aren't gonna be hiring huge name DC, I think that'll offset getting Malik. Like, I'm sure it will help, but I don't think it will be enough. If he visits on the 16th, I think he flips.

daylon himself mentioned Brent Venables as someone he admired

It's not looking like you'll be getting him though. Obviously something could change, but right now it looks like Venables is staying at Clemson.

He cares WAY more about fitting in the crowd and playing with his friends than some sort of logically coaching reason to go one place or another.

Malik committing means Sheffield will also commit. Those two committing would solidify Mack because then he would have a part of those commitments. Sumlin has given him a chance to take ownership in this class, which means he will want to stick around if all goes to plan.

Malik is the key. He goes to Texas, we get a crappy DC hire, and then it all unravels. If Malik commits to A&M it doesn't matter who the DC is we will get 3for3 of our top defensive targets.

And dogging on Malik being a EE is dumb. If LSU wants to really make an impact with Texas recruits every year it is time to get on the bandwagon with early recruiting. You want a guy like Malik in Texas, that means getting to know his grandmother's favorite color when he is a sophomore in high school.

Actually on most Texas forums they concede him to us. The reasoning is his GF will be an Aggie, plus the fact that Sumlin is taking such a hands-on approach to the recruitment. Even Geoff Ketchum assumes he will commit to us.

I'd actually rank it 1. A&M, 2. UCLA, 3. t.u. He's taking an OV with McNeal this weekend.

Yep, I'd be surprised if he doesn't end up an Aggie.

I think y'all not engaging earlier killed your chances.
