Ketch thinks its a toss up

What he said on the radio yesterday was that "Because of Sumlin's personal recruitment I expect Malik to go to A&M, but I also expect that Sumlin won't be the coach by the time he is a senior."

Or maybe it was Orca songs, you can never tell.

Yeah, doubt we have much of a chance, but I think we have a very slight shot. His dad not coming on the OV killed us. Really wish he wasn't an EE. I feel 100% different about Daylon though.

Daylon has said Malik committing would lock him in. They want to play together.

Maybe I just missed this, but where did Daylon recently make this statement? Daylon does seem like he's waiting for A&M to show him a reason to stay an Aggie.

He definitely is. When we hire a big time DC, land Malik, and land Sheffield it will be 3 reasons to stay an Aggie.

If LSU wants to really make an impact with Texas recruits every year it is time to get on the bandwagon with early recruiting.

I think we're doing fine in TX. Can't get them all.

Suspect he's A&M.

Ordinarily, I'd hate to see a player of his caliber heading to a division rival. But his chances of doing a ton of damage as an Aggie defender are pretty minimal so not too torn up about it.

Yeah. Just a gut feeling, but I just feel like this is a too little too late scenario. Hope I am wrong.

I honestly disagree.

I mean, with Texas sucking, OU sucking and A&M being beaten every year it kinda makes LSU THE best local option for Texas talent. If yall would play the game and get into early recruiting instead of trying to late flip guys like Mack then maybe yall would be the ones rolling into January at the top of the list instead of Bama.

I mean, the whole reason Mack Brown started that crap was to put a fence around the state. Now that he is gone ANY program can use an early start as later leverage, like we are doing to Charlie Strong. LSU could take advantage of that and end up in the top 5 recruiting classes every year.

Bruh, we took two of the top players in your state last year, have a great shot at taking three this year, and we're gonna raid Texas like a pack of fricking Nordic berserkers next year. I'm talking Eric Monroe, Deontay Anderson, Dee Anderson, Ed Oliver, and Erick Fowler. You wanna know what all these kids have in common? LSU leads for all of them. #WRTS.

Nice. Sounds like a possible #5for5 scenario

It's not looking like you'll be getting him though. Obviously something could change, but right now it looks like Venables is staying at Clemson.

Besides Mack, what Texas recruits are we trying to 'late flip'? We've recruited Mack for awhile now. LSU's done pretty well in Texas under Miles considering the caliber of schools in the state.
