The Hugh Freeze coaching tree is very appealing

I always was under the impression that Freeze trusted Allen with the defense but he brought Wommack on because Allen didn't have the credentials to be a SEC DC yet, but he would eventually become the DC after Wommack. Would be interesting to have our 2nd in command on the defense and ST guy gone.

Trust in Freeze to keep him.

Maybe he will stay a few more years to get a DC offer in a higher conference?

Out of all our coaches (that recruit), he's the one who I peg as our worst, but that isnt based on much. I have had two under four minute conversations with him and hes extremely humble, but didnt seem to have the charisma a Luke, Kiffin, or Heard have. Out of all the assistants, I guess he's the one I would be the least upset about leaving.

On the subject, remember when we werent sure if we would replace McGriff? How about Jason Damn Jones. He's brought in Webster, Tee, Ugo (hopefully), Cam, and Bridges while leading us to the top secondary in the country with two 5'9 CB's.

I thought about this the other day. I really hated to see McGriff go, but it's safe to say Jones has done an ok job replacing him.

I remember everybody telling us that we were going to have a shitty big 12 secondary

I was impressed the whole year by how fundamentally sound our DB's seem to be. Even on that TD catch by Wilson over Webster in the Egg Bowl . . . Wilson caught that despite Webster having his hands in his face, waiving them right in front of his eyes. (And that would have probably ended up as an interception if it hadn't occurred in the end zone.)

TL;DR: Jones has been great.

Yeah that TD was 100% about Wilson. Webster could not have done anything better in that position.

Webster will be a true lockdown type corner... Senquez is a ball hawk and is great in coverage, but Webster is gonna be more shutdown than Chernobyl

dude has crazy recovery speed... mix that with his height and ability to come down and deliver the blow... dont fux with him
