Clearly you are. Shall I list for you all of the freshmen and sophomores that have started for Saban?
What does Saban playing freshman and sophomores have to do with him being a very loyal-type coach who caters to seniority over youth?
Again, are you new to Saban?

Sure he did.

Bump. I said that I would address this question after the national championship game.
Who is the better qb? I'm not sure. There seems to be so many aspects of being a qb. Leadership would go to Blake by a mile. Overall athletic ability and ability to extend plays also goes to Blake. Blake also throws a better deep ball.
Yet, if we were playing in the title and I had to choose just one qb to lead us on the field, I would choose AJ. AJ is a total douche as a person, not the greatest leader, but he has a certain hyper focus during title games that is unmet by any of the QBs in the CNS era. AJ faced one of the best cfb defenses of the modern era as a RS sophomore and had his best game all year. The next year at ND he also played out of his mind.
It isn't about the W/L result from the title so much as how the qb played in the game. Had Blake simply avoided the turnovers during the game, he would rank above AJ as the overall better qb. The reality is that had Blake avoided the turnovers we wouldn't still be a overanalyzing this game.
Blake Sims QBR against tOSU: 25.8
AJ QBR in 21-0: 70.3
AJ QBR against ND: 93.3
If we are talking about the guy that I'd like to sit down and have a beer with, or the guy that I would want to date my sister, give me Blake Sims. If we are talking about a regular season game, give me Sims or AJ. If we are talking about the title, give me AJ.

I felt like Blake had a very similar game to the one AJ had in last year's Sugar Bowl.

Pretty much. But when the actual championship was on the line, AJ was clutch. In other games, hit or miss.

I'm not going to disagree with you but AJ also struggled somewhat against UGA in the SECCG. AJ had the luxury of being able to lean on a strong running game and had good defenses to back him up.
Its really neither here nor there and at the end of the day, AJ has two titles. Hard to dispute it at this point.

Even with AJ's struggles in the SECCG he still had a QBR of almost ten points more than Blake's in this game. AJ threw one INT to Blake's three INTs
Again, Blake's stats as far as yardage and TDs were good enough to win. The INT stat is what sticks out as the ultimate factor between a win and a loss. Had Blake just threw the ball away or found a check down receiver Alabama would still be in the title hunt.

AJ also would spread the wealth around too. Something Sims could not(would not) do.

Very true. Bracketing would not have been nearly as effective since McCarron had more than one favorite receiver. Although sometimes he would become a little dependent on Norwood (first INT of the Sooner Bowl comes to mind)

I was gonna bump this but didn't want to be an arse. But yeah, AJ was better than Blake. Not even close.

AJ in his last year with more leadership and talent did less. AJ also had two terrible last games.
So in short? Shut the frick up.
I'm guessing you're one of those clowns who threatened him.

This. If Sims ran the read better, it would be a closer decision, but he was pretty bad at it.

I'm saying AJ was better but I'd love to see what Sims could've done if he would have had McCarron's experience. He did awfully damn good for a 1st year starter that got almost no real pt.

I wonder the same thing too. Especially since it seemed like Blake produced better team chemistry. Hard to pick between the two. Sims was good at saving plays and running the ball himself, and AJ was better at not making mental errors and controlling the offense. I'll say this, Sims was the better QB for the team we had this year.

I'd say that this is a very fair assessment.

Yeah dude 277 yards and 3 tds on the road at Auburn is terrible. Clown.

AJ would have won a Heisman if Kiffin had showed up a year earlier!
