He also says the Rose Bowl is "doing very well, too."

Finebaum was saying the other day that it is very possible that these two college football games will be the highest rated college football games of all-time.

Hopefully the games live up to the hype.

Ohio State will get smoked but Oregon/FSU should be a classic

Ohio St. brought a shite-load of people to New Orleans in 2007. The city will be a zoo New Year's Eve.

The only reason I'm not going

Average resale for the Sugar right now is in the 450 range while the Rose is around 325

Ohio apparently accounting for 23% of sales, with Alabama accounting for 21%

Rose Bowl will have less ticket buzz... FSU was there last year and Oregon has been there a couple times the last few years... and neither fanbase travels all that well.

I do not see this happening. I think Oregon is going to sprint out to a 3 td lead in the first half. Only, unlike Louisville, ClimPsun, and the others that had FSU down, Oregon isn't going to let up. There will be no second half comeback, and the Noles will lose in the semis.

I'll be honest, I'm a little surprised this is the case. I wondered how fans who could only afford one bowl trip would decide whether to wait for the championship game or go ahead and buy tickets for the semis. I'm sure having three longtime heavyweights and one recent heavyweight, all of which having enormous fanbases, don't hurt but I'm still a little surprised tickets are selling as well as they have.

I wonder how it will go moving forward once the newness of all this wears off.

I'm shocked tickets are this low honestly. I think the capacity of N.O. is hurting sales a bit. A lot of people (I assume) go to N.O. for New Years anyway, so Buckeye and Tide fans may not be able to hold this many people at once easily

I looked and saw some for like $300, which is about what you get a normal ticket for in the Horseshoe for a good team (8-4 good)

I think the Alabama-Ohio State game will be the closer matchup of the two. I think Oregon beats F$U by 3 scores.

Parents just told me they got me a ticket and they hope I still wanna come(duh).....because they don't want to have wasted money.

I'm hoping the dollar amount they said was the total for all 3

Maybe so. Obviously for many reasons the market for tickets in Columbia MO is different than Tuscaloosa or Columbus. My season tickets were $278 and I think Mizzou fans would definitely sell half of a stadium out for a National Championship game, but I know there's no way there's enough fans to go around to sell out a semifinal and national championship game unless they were within a reasonable driving distance.

That's the real issue. I don't know what the game in Dallas is going to go for. Oregon/FSU don't have the fans Bama/OSU do, so I wonder if there is any possibility the Sugar has higher prices than the NCG

I've been thinking it was better to go to Dallas cause if you win you want to go to the second game. If you lose then you didn't want to be there. However, there is something about being on Bourbon Street on New Year's eve. It pulls the crazy shite out of you (including some testicles apparently). Loads of fun.

It's the first year of the new playoff format so everybody is excited about it. It will be interesting to see how the attendance at the semi-final bowls will be compared to the championship game.
