What if Kenyan Drake was converted to WR and Derrick was made the starting RB along with Tyren Jones as his backup? We already saw how Drake can outrun pretty much ANYBODY and would by virtue, be an above average sized receiver.

I think we have plenty of WRs, so I don't know that making him a pure WR is best.

Let him be a hybrid. RB/WR. Play him in the Slot, play him everywhere. He can be a mismatch nightmare.

Give Henry/Jones the bulk of the carries, and let Drake get plenty too + more catches than the other two.

Kenyan Drake would have been Alabama's version of Reggie Bush had he made it through the season. He was our most versatile back.

Putting him at WR doesn't utilize what he does best imo. He already lined up at WR from time to time so I don't see the advantage in playing him there full time. He is better at running the ball than Henry, so not sure id want to trade his carries for Henry's. I think the emergence of Jones and Scarbrough will allow Drake to stay on the field at WR more often than he had been though. Ideally, I'd like Drake to get 9-10 carries a game next year and 15-20 snaps a game as a "mismatch player"

This could mean throwing to him out of the backfield, slot, split end, or using him as a decoy. Scarbrough is a big Drake btw. Jones is probably our best pure tailback next year. Doesn't mean he's a better player, just means he possesses the best all around running skills. The bubble screen to Drake, and subsequent play action off that, will be a key component to our offense next year, and would have been this year had he remained healthy.

He has 3 years in college invested at RB. Not sure I like the idea of changing his position senior year. Maybe something more akin to a Percy Harvin RB/WR hybrid but slanting more RB than WR.

Yea, that's the direction we were going with him this year anyway. Bush with more emphasis on receiving or Harvin with more emphasis on running, however you want to look at it. We will get him the ball in space, but if teams take that away then we'll turn around and hand it to him.

I'm confident that Kiffin can move him around effectively. Start him in the backfield, motion him to the slot, and quick snap it. That could be lethal. Or, bring him around on a reverse. I disagree with outright converting him to WR though.

I'm with everyone else, leave him at RB but move him around to get the mismatches/info from defenses that you want.

I'd like to us in the pistol, Drake coming in on the sweep, Henry at RB, Ardarius Stewart, Cam Sims, and yes, OJ Howard, split out wide. Kinda similar to how the barn ran it with Mason, Grant, and Coates last year.

I may be too critical of him, but I'm still not convinced Henry will excel as the number 1 back. He appears to have all the physical tools in the world, but his running style and Alabama's blocking schemes have not always seemed to fit well together. I feel like even though he is a big back, that he needs big holes at the LOS and or the end sealed off well to be effective. He hasn't seemed to be a guy that can handle plays that aren't blocked really well, doesn't make people missed behind the line or at the line.

Hopefully, I'm wrong and he will develop into that complete number 1 back that Bama has had for years now.

On the other hand I may be too optimistic about this - but I think Tyren Jones looks like he could be a complete number 1 type back. Love the way he has run in limited action this year. Tennpenny looks good too.

With all that said, I think we need to keep Drake in the RB rotation but, as others have said, use him all over the field as well.

Tyren is our most talented runner, for sure. That was always sort of the thing surrounding him, and now he's getting PT.

Too much uncertainty in the backfield to move, keep it all there till something shakes out. A lot of pieces, but no one has stepped up as a complete back.

They seem to be confident with what they have at WR, playing them more and more as the season progressed. Most for their blocking, which is a big attribute for playing there too.

The blocking of our young receivers is huge for their future. With young receivers (we'll have some next year) you worry about their blocking. But these guys do a great job at it. They're not just good blockers, they're willing blockers.

Honestly, I like drake as a hybrid. I also like henry as a goal line back and change up. Tyren jones should get the bulk of the carries imo.

Helps the offense go, less of a drop off in that regard when replacing veterans. Offense will benefit as a whole for it, even if they lose quality players in 2014. Could be remnant of 2011, just with better raw talent.

I'd actually like to see him start at RB next year. There were certainly times where looked like a better back than Yeldon. I really want him to get a lot of carries. Love his running style. Hits the hole very fast. Unlike Henry
