on your team?

For bama its kind of hard to choose biggest surprise, between blake sims, nick perry, arie kounandjio. gonna go with blake, but nobody was giving any of those guys a shot to be good

biggest disappointment, once again place kicking. Griffith started out great and then tanked hard, statistically the worst placekicking year since saban got here, even worse than 2011.

Nick Perry wasn't good he just sucked less than expected. Arie and Sims balled out.

Biggest surprise has to be Blake Sims. Kiffin has taken a guy who is a good athlete, but doesn't really have what you look for in a QB. And what has he done? Turned him into a near 4000 yard player. Gotta love seeing Blake succeed.

Biggest disappointment? Trey DePriest or Adam Griffith

Not sure I would call it a surprise, but true freshmen Jamal Adams has a bright future.

Disappointed in Chavis for not seeing the obvious in DJ Welter being inadequate at best before 5 games into the season. And Cam for not developing (dare I say regressing) Anthony Jennings.

Surprise- Overall defense. Barnett and D-Line in particular.

Disappointment- Easy answer is O-Line but they were supposed to struggle replacing 5 starters but to me biggest disappointment is Wide Receivers. Got alot of highly recruited guys at that position but they struggle to get open. I think part of it is coaching. Zack Azzanni is a good recruiter but not a good coach.

Surprise Pharoh Cooper. Not sure anyone knew how good that kid actually was.

Disappointment: the entire defense, specifically the D-line. Can Cooper Play DB too?

Surprise - AUs defense the first cpl of games was looking decent

Disappointment - AUs defense the last half of the season decided they didn't like that improvement.

Biggest surprise - Derek Barnett. Dear God he wasn't supposed to be THAT good. He wasn't a highly touted 5 star recruit but you'd never know that by the way he's played.

Biggest disappointment - our OLINE. Even though, I'd been told by someone who sees practices that we were looking at a historically bad oline with historically bad OTs, and I expected them to be pretty bad I never expected them to be this bad.

Surprise: Nick fricking Chubb,

I knew that kid was going to be a beast. Hate that SC didn't get him. One of my favorite Non-gamecock SEC players (11 games a year ;) ) . You guys are fortunate to have him.

The good...

Individually...Nick Chubb stepping up as a freshman during the Gurley mess & finishing up with 7 straight 100yd games, finishing up with 1281 yds, 12TD's & a 6.9yd/carry avg...

As a team...After losing three 4* starters in our secondary & having a new DC come on board finishing 1ST in the SEC in pass defense(158yds/gm) after being 9TH last year(228 yds/gm) & 5TH in TTL defense(334yds/gm) after being 8TH last year(376yds/gm)...

The bad...

Losing to SCe, UF & GT...

I knew he would too, but I didn't expect him to have such an impact. I thought he would just be a really solid backup. I knew he would be a beast after seeing this though.

Perry has definitely been good. Was our best defensive player vs State. Also played an excellent game against Auburn.

For the topic I'd say Sims for biggest surprise and DePriest for biggest disappointment.

I was kind of on the fence about Sims coming into the season but never would've expected him to be this good.

DePriest is a valuable player in that he makes the calls and knows the defense but he's way overweight and has had games where he plays soft in addition to lacking athleticism. Griffith gets a pass for apparently being injured.

I was surprised Cam Sims played as much as he did in non-garbage time.

I was disappointed in Christion Jones's senior year

i beg to differ, he was 4th on the team in tackles with 74 behind only collins, ragland, and depriest. had 2 ints, 5 passes broken up, 3.5 tackles for loss. Besides 16 fewer tackles his numbers are very similar to landon's
