Listening to Blake Sims on Finebaum and he sounds like Nick Marshall only with a much slower country drawl . . . They're both country as hell but Blake seems a little more comfortable in an interview setting

Yea, which contrary to most redneck, racists across our region means nothing about their education level or intelligence.

Both just country kids from Georgia. Their drawls just sound a little different than country white boys.

He reminds me a lot of Chris Leak when he talks. Or Randy Moss.

This plus I think Nick dreads any type of media access which makes his interviews more painful to watch

You can usually tell that Blake is very conscious of his public speaking. He will start out fast and then catch himself and slow down.

Yeah, Nick Marshall's speech also reminds me of Randy Moss.

I'll be honest with you, I only understand about 10% of the words that come out of Nick Marshall's mouth in interviews. It's like he is speaking another language. Sims isn't the most loquacious guy in the world, but I'm not straining to understand what he says

Which honestly makes sense given his history. I wouldn't want to have anything to do with the media either if I were him.

Sounds horrible when he speaks. He's actually an intelligent guy though.

It's learned. Our guys all get extensive media training. Some do better with it than others, but typically they at least get the basics down.

AU should have just used CJ Uzomah as Marshall's interpreter and been done with it.

I never presumed Nick's lack of eloquence in front of a camera was ever any indication of his intelligence. I've seen brilliant human beings look like stuttering morons the moment they got in front of a crowd.

I think Nick Marshall's speaking ability, or lack thereof per the SECRant, is over exaggerated. He's no Rhodes Scholar or anything close, but it's not hard to understand someone while they are speaking.

I think a lot of it is people just not being used to hearing country black folks talk. Same as Yankees not being able to understand country white folks. And the same assumption about intelligence is made by both (wrongly).

well sure. most everything on the rant gets blown out of proportion. But nobody is asking NM to come to any speaking engagements any time soon. I think Greg McElroy's job is safe for now.

Have you watched Moss on Fox Sports? He's been really good since he started last year. I was actually surprised at by how well he transitioned to media based on his past history
