That Ray hit was Quinton Dial-esque,

Glad we didn't have to deal with that all game.
Not that it mattered.

Ray was blocking on an interception return?

yeah I don't see how the two hits are comparable.

Not even close to correct......

I understand the difference but you still can't do what Dial did. He would be ejected for that hit now.

maybe I'm blind but that looks like a textbook block. the fact that it's a qb is irrelevant.

quote:stuff like that happens all the time on kickoff returns. He was an offensive player throwing a block, he would not even be flagged much less ejected.

Clean block...
I'll allow it.

if it was a 300 pound linemen he laid into we wouldn't even be talking about it being "illegal"

It was legal (targting ignored), doesn't mean it wasn't dirty.

Dude look at the crown of his helmet smash Murray's facemask.
You can't lower your head like that and hit another player "above the neck area", have you guys watched any football the last 2 years?
I'm not saying I agree with the new rules but that is a textbook "target".

I just don't see how it was dirty. The db picked the ball off, Dial squares up and throws his shoulder directly into the Georgia player.

Do they or have they ever called targeting on a block?

Yea I saw Oklahoma's fullback get ejected vs. Kansas State.

Yes I have
And from my POV... I'm seeing his shoulder going into the chest?
ETA: Ok the helmets do make contact. I'm not seeing him getting ejected however.

Hit him so hard he forgot to call a timeout at the end of the game. Clean hit all the way...

Actually, do the helmets even make contact? It's honestly a little hard to tell.
Looks like a shoulder \
I don't see it.

One of us must be blind then because it looks blatantly obvious to me.
