Am I the only one who thinks they are going 0-2 in these games?

I don't see Ole Miss being able to keep up with TCU scoring points, and Georgia Tech is very difficult to prepare for when you never see those type of teams.

Ga Tech is laughably bad in bowls because they are easy to prepare for when you have time.

We're going to rape Georgia Tech.

A month to prepare for the Triple Option? Please.

This matchup plays right into our hands. Strong up front on D, weak on the back-end.

Our offense will score 45+

The last time we played a Big XII team with a really good offense in a bowl game we beat the shite out of them when we weren't supposed to.

I see Miss State winning, not sure about Ole Miss. Will be rooting for both though.

I am a little worried about our game. I think MSU will beat GT.

Yeah -- the 1-5 in bowl games under Paul Johnson really shows how difficult Tech is to prepare for. If you factor their record after teams' bye weeks and in season openers, it gets even worse. The triple option is difficult-to-impossible to prepare for in a single week during the season. With 3 weeks to prepare, it can be and generally is exploited.

As far as OM/TCU, I think it may be the single most interesting non-playoff matchup of bowl season. I can see it going either way -- but wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see a repeat of their 08 Cotton Bowl thumping of Tech...

Ole Miss is +3.5

Miss. St. is -7

If I were a betting person I would take both.

Only one team has scored more than 17 points on us.

Just a thought.

Paul Johnson is 1-5 in bowl games for a reason. In fact, Georgia Tech's record is atrocious when they face a team that has had two weeks to prepare.

Its a difficult offense to face once a year in the regular season, which is why they have had success.

Their defense is garbage though. Not sure they can stop us consistently either.

I think Ole Miss beats TCU as well. You think TCU wants to play in the Peach Bowl after thinking they were going to the playoff. It will be Florida and Bama in the Sugar Bowl redux.

Not even close. I think State vs Tech will be an absolute massacre and I don't feel I'm being a homer. They're easy to plan for when given a months time plus they play to our strength (even if it wasn't the case vs OM). OM vs TCU will be closer than I think, but I still think OM's pass D is better than TCU's passing game. They're D-line will get plenty of pressure, also.

TCU's defense has really improved as the season progressed. This is an intriguing matchup. I really think it comes down to whether TCU plays pissed off or heart broken.

Hmmm, wasn't aware of Johnson's 1-5 record in bowls. That's a good stat. Makes me rethink that game.

Don't be worried about our matchups, I would be worried about Missouri's bowl game with Minnesota.

Paul Johnson's 1-5 Bowl Game History
2013 Music City Bowl vs. Ole Miss (SEC): L, 25-17
2012 Sun Bowl vs. USC (Pac 12): W, 21-7
2011 Sun Bowl vs. Utah (Pac 12): L, 30-27
2010 Independence Bowl vs. Air Force (MWC): L, 14-7
2009 Orange Bowl vs. Iowa (B1G): L, 24-14
2008 Peach Bowl vs. LSU (SEC): L, 38-3

In six games, Georgia Tech has broken 21 points only once, and have been held under 17 points four times.

Gardner-Webb (FCS) had an off week to prepare for them in 2008. Georgia Tech won, but won 10-7 and GWU basically shut down the triple option.

Miami has had an off week before playing GT for five years between 09-13. Miami was 5-0 against Tech. These are 6-7 win Miami teams.
