Why is Ole Miss ranked higher than Georgia?

Is it because they made the cover of Sports Illustrated earlier in the year, and the media falls in love with a storyline, even after it has been debunked?
They have the exact same record as Georgia, but Georgia absolutely destroyed 2 of the teams they lost to.
Thanks to the media love, Ole Miss is going to a pretty good bowl game, while UGA is relegated to a ridiculously irrelevent bowl.
I don't get it. Ole Miss is not a glamour school. It's a backwater school. Ole Miss is and always will be Georgia's patsy. Look at the series record.
UGA vs. Texas Christian would have been a competitive game. Ole Miss will lose by 30 to Texas Christian.

UGA vs TCU would not be a competitive game unless the UGA from the Auburn/Missouri/1st Half Arkansas games came out. I don't know anyone who would feel safe betting on that.
I also think Ole Miss is ranked a few spots too high but not worth arguing about at this point. Any complaints about where UGA is ranked/who is ranked above us is a direct result of the disappointment in our season. We don't deserve to complain about anything. With our losses, I think our ranking is pretty generous. They don't rank based on potential.

Judging by some of the UGA fans on here over the last day, you'd think they actually accomplished something this year.....or any year

I know it is basically the equivalent of a BCS bowl now, but I still wouldn't consider the Peach Bowl a great bowl game. This is especially true for Georgia. Most Georgia fans and players could go to Atlanta almost any day

It's almost the off season, everyone knows that Ugly is the #1 off-season team. It's been that way every year since 1981.

Well, they do have the best win over anyone in the entire country and they are a really good team.
