I can't even think about the end of that game. Not without risking a stroke.

Honestly when he was first hired i was wondering if it was a sort of "tryout"

Has that ever happened before? Womens Bball coach takes mens head coaching job at same school?

Not saying Mike needs to go, but I am saying that its been a few years now, and his best team is 1 loss to Dayton away from being eliminated from the NCAAT

I think that generally Mike has done ok in player development with many of the lightly recruited 3 star players that he has to work with.

Problem is, he's the reason he only has mostly 3 star players to work with. (in state players like Portis who would have committed to Kim Jong-un if he were the head coach of the Razorbacks don't count)

From day one, I was always worried that he wasn't going to be a great recruiter and so far those fears have been substantiated.

Oh, and I guess it's nit picking to mention that he can't employ an effective defense.

It's year four. He's had time. Criticism is warranted.

Damn right it is. Guy is making millions of dollars and giving us a mediocre underachieving team for the 4th year in a row.

If we don't make the tourney he should be on a very hot seat, if not fired IMO.

Anyone saying we can't risk firing him and losing Monk is a retard also

If we dont improve quickly and make a run in the tourney, we dont get Monk. Thats my opinion. Talked to his bro a couple months ago.

I've said it before (before I became a member here) that our men's team will be nothing more than a mediocre, middle of the road basketball team with MA at the helm. I'm just not particularly fond of his coaching style.

My sentiments exactly.

ETA: I'd give him one more season. If we don't make it to at least the sweet sixteen of the NCAAT by year 5, then JL best start looking for someone else who can get us to that level.

No excuses this year. 4 years for a basketball team is plenty of time to show you can do something. I just don't understand why the team is so abysmal on the road.

It's nothing new, MA should have spent all offseason prepping for road games. Who gives a shite if we can beat anyone at home if we can't pull it together on the road. I know the practice facility isn't done yet but I'm sure there are plenty of other options. It's only 2 losses but I'm sick of this shite.

It isn't so much losing on the road, it happens, and the Iowa State game was the classic running into a buzzsaw scenario. Nothing to be done for it.

The end of the Clemson game was inexcusable. On the road, neutral site game, home court, aircraft carrier parked in a hurricane, whatever. If we are going to be an NCAA tourney team in a fairly weak conference we have to win those type of games.

5-33 outside of Arkansas since 2011.

that's a 13% road win rate while not being in a basketball conference.

Thats legitimately mind numbing, especially with as bad as the SEC is.

Just no excuse there, and what it comes down to is poor preparation and offensive execution.

They rely almost entirely on the home crowd to pump them up, demoralize the opponent, and keep them in the game via defense and running the floor. Its just piss poor.

Thats the difference between Mikes teams and Nolans teams. Nolan had his guys ready to play every night, and they executed. You just dont see that with Mike.

2 of the wins weren't even true road games and I think the other 3 were vs really really bad auburn teams. How is that even possible?

Is MA betting against the team on the road? As a fan I would dress up as an opposing teams fan for a couple practice games during the offseason.
