Each week's rankings are standalone.

Last week's has no bearing on this week's.

I would love to see OSU over the Big 12.

They can say that all they want, but it's simply not true. All the reasons they had for ranking the teams as they did last week are still relevant and will be used, as with whatever they take from this weekend to form the new poll. If every weeks rankings were standalone and had no effect on the next, then the only games that would matter would be the ones from this weekend to form this weeks poll, which is simply untrue. The same method that they use to create their poll is no different than any other poll, they just like to use fancy wording to give the impression they have more credibility than a "normal" poll.

I think they ranked last week hoping Kansas St would take care of their problem for them

They didn't.

I think OSU made a point for themselves over TCU and Baylor.

I also think there should be a point made about the BIG 12 trying to game the system by going to this co-champ bullshite.

If OSU gets in it'll be because they'll bring more money to the situation.. part of the reason I don't like the committee format. Playoff system ...yes, small selection committee... no.

I don't like this committee deal either, but love the playoff...wish it was eight teams. Throw the 5 champs in with three wildcards.

I agree with th OP, people are not listening to what the committee is saying. That's not their fault.

Look at TCU, Baylor, and OSU wins,

OSU has the best 2 wins. blowouts if MSU and Wisky. That is undeniable. The committee has shown since the beginning that each week can and will change. They also don't care as much abou losses , as the do wins.

You can say each week stands on its own, but each week also is a ranking of a team's entire body of work. It's not like it's a new committee every week, so obviously previous rankings DO have a bearing on this week's.

The committee put itself in a bind when it started dropping FSU despite them staying unbeaten and by ignoring the head-to-head between Baylor and TCU. Does anybody really believe that FSU isn't going to be in this? No way. That means if you put Ohio State in, you're going to end up dropping TCU at least two spots after they just beat somebody by 50 points.

By the way, I think Ohio State should be in over either TCU or Baylor. I just think the committee has put themselves in a little bit of a bind. They've created a situation that will result in a lot more backlash than there needed to be.

This^^^^^

When they felt the need to justify themselves and buck a poll system that for the most part has got it right for the last 50 years, they have created a giant shite sandwich.

Keeping the status quo and leaving it FSU, Bama, Oregon, then TCU would leave them wiggle room to do whatever they want.

You are right regarding the TCU thing, as far as a perceived spot. But hats only because everyone thinks this works like a poll. It doesn't. They are going to say that this is the 4 after this week.

TCU beat Iowa state at home by 50+

Ohio Staye was a 3.5 underdog on a neutral site , playing a 3rd string QB, playing the #2 def , against one of the hottest backs in the country .., they won by 50+. Tell me which looks more dominant. This week. When it's all said in done, who looks the best. I think Fsu would get blasted by all the other 5. However they are unbeaten. That's the problem , FSU has not really played anyone.

Anything that makes their job easier will be used. This has to be out at 12:30 EST. They'll want to get this shite over with. Some team (or two) will not be happy no matter what.

FSU fans have to be concerned. They're undefeated and the reigning champs, but they seem to get worse every week. Ohio State is going to push someone out..... it's either TCU or FSU.

FSU is safe. They're undefeated and they scheduled well in the non-conference. I see zero scenario where they don't get in.

And it's a complete disrespect for the ACC.

Maybe the ACC isn't SEC-strong, and maybe it's a weak conference. But is really that much weaker than the Big 10? I'd say it's stronger than the Big 10, honestly.

And Florida State had a respectable OOC schedule. Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, and Florida are two more Power 5 teams than what TCU, Baylor, or Ohio State had.
