Yep. We got sent to the Texas Bowl once and our fans basically boycotted the thing cuz they were so mad we'd been shafted so bad by the Big 12, which never pretended to be the least bit democratic about the bowl process. I was there at that Texas Bowl and much much more accurate quote would be "Missouri used to get irate about being sent to the Texas Bowl."

That's only half the reason. There is another major city on the other side of the state, just in case you didn't know. Some fans spend their money on the Chiefs, and atleast this year, the Royals since they played in the World Series. That cuts into your entertainment funds.

What a minute, that is the actual trophy? With basically an Insurance Sticker on it? The graphic rendering looked much better than the actual trophy. This badly needs to be changed.

You're partially correct.
Yes. Missouri's per capita income dwarfs a state like Arkansas. But even in a state with as vibrant and growing middle and upper class as we have, we get spread thin with the diverse multi-sport options available to us.
So yes, distance and income each play a part.
