You get 14 practices to get ready, so do you want the Staff to get ready for next year or just prep for opponent?

There's no true way to prep, as both ways proven to be a successful way to do it.

Id like to see them work on run game and get whoever the QB will be ready for next year.

Then get the 2 and 3 a bunch of live work on Defense.

No prepping for next year. I want to win the game. You play to win the game.

I've always been skeptical of the talking head line about bowl practice giving the young guys a head start on the next season. I would think that the Spring and Summer camps are a lot more important than the two weeks of bowl practice.

You do realize there's a downside to this in bowl prep as it's a reward and too much of it can cause resentment.

It's tough. If I was scheduling I would do a lot of shell (thud or thump) work and young guys full go. Probably 9 of these 3 walk through ( initial and last two) 2 full goes after first walk through

Put the redshirts and scouts in full go in full go in 4 of the 9 shells.

Sumlin generally spends the first 2 weeks in training camp mode and a normal week on game prep. Each of the last two years I believe he gave most of the starters the first week off to rest and to get more reps for others.

I wouldn't expect much different this year except a lot more of our 2-deep is so young they still need the reps. Probably be a case by case basis but it wouldn't surprise me if only the SRs are given the first week off.
