Did you guys watch that tonight? It was putting me to sleep. You couldn't hear the crowd at all and it looked half full in the stadium.

TBH, I don't know how great of an environment a college football game is on a Friday night, especially on the west coast

it was a 6 o'clock start on a Friday night at an off campus stadium

it would have been much better if the game was on Saturday or if the game was in either Eugene or Tucson

Not only that, but it was in Santa Clara.

That area of California hasn't seen decent college football since Aaron Rogers and Marshawn Lynch played at Cal.

It's basically in San Jose. That area of California has never seen decent college football.

AND it was the first year that neither team hosted.

2011 - Eugene
2012 - Palo Alto
2013 - Palo Alto

There's very few places a neutral site game can work in the PAC 12 footprint.

-Glendale, AZ
-Seattle, WA

That's it. Denver doesn't work. Pretty much anywhere in California NOT the Rose Bowl doesn't work.

If they plan on rotating it between the four pro stadiums in the conference's footprint, it will be one giant fail after another.

Rose Bowl probably wouldn't work unless USC or UCLA was in it either.

It's just a different world out here.

Vegas might work, but we don't have a stadium that's worth a frick. Also, not officially "Pac 12 Country," but the basketball tournament works.

Understand the Santa Clara deal, but it still seemed to be missing something. Rain and Friday night didn't help either.

They had it right the first time. The division champion with the better record hosts.

You could put the SEC CG in a cow field on a island in the Miss. river and they would be 150k people at the event. On Tuesday morning.

Too many excuses here. For god's sake, this was their showcase championship game.
