He's just an annoying old troll. I can't believe ESPN is paying him for this boredom.

Because we southerners love Jerry Springer. We make fun of that shite but we are intrigued because we get to realistically point at others who we perceive to be more stupid than us.

Please make it go away.

He wouldn't be successful if it weren't for the inbreds from Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana that constantly call in.

He's part of the reason the SEC Network has great ratings. That's why.

People that bitch about him saying he doesn't need to be on 4 hours a day, please suggest what to do in that 4 hour slot every day to generate the same amount of viewers that he does.

Gumps and Barners. And yeah, it's a total embarrassment. If we Alabamians are being totally honest.

Sigh. As much as I want to insult you and bring up your state's shortcomings, you're absolutely fricking right.

The SEC Network needed shows to fill their time slots and it takes up 4 hours a day. Without it the channel would basically be a SEC classics channel.

Don't forget about that occasional call from Charles Allenhead from Birmingham Alabama who wants to talk about everything other than sports.

Wonder how that paternity test turned out for him.

He's a less charismatic Skip Bayless, and that seems damn near impossible.

This. People will say "OMG SHOW CLASSIC GAMES INSTEAD OF THAT a-hole!" without thinking which will get more viewers.

Will someone from Ohio watch the 1996 Florida-Vanderbilt game, or will they watch Paul Finebaum and his callers? Sure it's embarrassing but people that say it needs to be taken off the air are fricking stupid.

He got a job because he brought an audience. I would be interested in seeing the ratings. As long as the SEC is doing well the haters will watch.

I think his guests and interviews can be compelling. His callers are comic relief, as embarrassing as many are. And as much as they aggravate me, we all listen when a Phyllis, Charles or Tammy calls.

As would I. I guarantee they are the most ratings the show gets outside of live games.
