All one has to do is take a look at the coaching tree he comes from to figure out where he gets his pedigree from.

Nick Saban was an assistant under Don James (won a national championship at Washington) at Rice in the early-70s. Don James was an assistant under Bill Peterson at Florida State during the mid-60s. Bill Peterson served under Paul Dietzel (won a national championship at LSU) in the mid-to-late 50s at Louisiana State. Paul Dietzel served under Bear Bryant (won six national championships at Alabama) while he was at Kentucky. Bear Bryant was an assistant to Frank Thomas (won two national championships at Alabama) in Tuscaloosa. Frank Thomas was an assistant and player under Knute Rockne (won five national championships at Notre Dame) in the 1920s.

So Coach Saban is a direct coaching descendant of some of the best coaches in the history of college football. That's where the magic comes from.

Or he was the DC for Bill Belichick, is a workaholic, is able to sell kids on playing at a historical program, and then gets great calls because of said program on top of it all.

Nah. It's because he's descended from Knute Rockne on the coaching tree. It's obvious.

Because he has built a brand at Bama and get the best players. If any other coach got the best players they would be in the same boat as him.

Best Players, Coaches, Facilities, Refs, et Cetera, money can buy.

Football is too important to leave anything possible to chance.
