Florida pays csu 5 mill plays game for 2 mill pays mushchamp 6.3 mill to fire him and pays new coach 3 .5 mill a year. so for his first season will cost them 16.8 mill. He better be a really good coach.

Don't you know we have several different dialects of recognized English in this country now?

This thread delivered on several levels.

As for Florida, they should have just kept Muschamp until his contract ran out. Hell, he had the Gators looking much better toward the end of the season and played competitively against undefeated FSU. Now SC is going to get a damn good DC.

I don't think that's right. Here's what I read elsewhere:

Florida will pay CSU $3 million over 6 years as part of the contract buy-out for the new coach.

Florida will also pay CSU another $2 million to play a game against them in Gainsville sometime between 2017 and 2020.

The remaining $2 million on the buy-out clause will be paid personally by McElwain.

Florida will pay about $8 million for Muschamp and his assistants as part of the contract they have with him.

Florida will pay $3.5 million a year to the new coach.

Total cost of the coaching change will be about $18 million for the buyout, plus the salary of the new coach.

McElwain coaching for no money in year 1. $3.5m with taxes taken out will likely be about nothing after he pays the $2m buyout.
