and a $2 mil payout to Colorado State for a future home game to be played sometime between 2017-2020. (Colorado State will also receive $2 mil from McElwain himself -- my god he wanted to come here badly).
That adds up to $23.5 mil over the next few years. I hope he's worth it Foley. Your gone if he doesn't pan out -- the boosters won't let him keep throwing money away like this.

Lol, that is pretty cheap.
You are paying the guy under $5 million a year when you break it down. Texas paid more for Charlie last year.

We're only paying Muschamp $6.3M. And we would pay for that game anyways so it's not an added cost. And the $3M is spread over 6 years.
Foley will be here until he retires regardless

All of that and you guys MAY average 2 more wins/year than you had w/ Muschamp. Where you guys went wrong, obviously, was hiring Muschamp in the first place. Looking back, why would Florida ever hire anyone without HC experience? Foley is an idiot and he should incur the cost of his mistake.

Would not include his current salary. But I think it is 6 to Boom, 5 to CSU, 2 for a game, plus some money to assistants that yall don't keep. 13 million is a lot to change coaches. It cost us 8 to get rid of Chiz and His assistants.

It is really not that bad.The assistants will either get new jobs or stay at UF and we don't have to pay. The Muschamp buyout stings the most, but at least it is paid out over time as well.

That's structured into his contract, dummy. Florida is just funneling the money through him.

His assistants are an additional $2 mil though. We may retain some of them, but most will be out of here.
$2 mil for a game? We usually pay between 500k-750k for one.
Not to mention, Foley is batting .000 on football head coaching hires (Urban was brought in by Machen, not Foley). He may be a great AD for the other sports, but football is the cash cow, and without it, none of the sports could support themselves.

The assistants don't get buyouts if they get other jobs. It is only if they remain unemployed.

Buyout was 7.5 million. Foley did a pretty good job of making 7 mil look like it isn't that much money. They put 2 million into McElwain's contract, 2 million into a game and then spread it out over 6 years.

Why didn't you guys just put Chiz and his boys on the perpetual payout plan like so many other coaches at the Barn?
