Mizzou and Respect

A lot of scorn has been thrown Mizzou's way lately and if you look at the facts it is unearned. Mizzou probably is not a play-off team, however that does not mean its recent history and its play this season isn't worthy of respect

Some facts about this season (with the help of Bernie Miklasz's column):

According to Sagarin Mizzou played the 23rd toughest schedule (ahead of TCU-31, Oregon-34, Arizona-35, Florida St.-49, Ohio St.-60, and Baylor-66)

According to Sagarin the SEC East is the 3rd toughest in the nation behind the SEC West and the PAC-12 South

Now some recent history facts:

According to Sagarin the SEC East was the 4th toughest division in 2013. That means both of Mizzou's division titles were earned in top 4 divisions

Over the past 2 seasons Mizzou has played 9 ranked teams (at the time of kick-off) and has went 6-3.
(Only Alabama and Auburn have done better in the SEC during that period)

Mizzou is 8-0 in SEC road games over the last 2 seasons

Mizzou has won four division titles and has co-champed a 5th in the last 8 years

Since 2007 Mizzou ranks 9th nationally in wins and has had 2 top 5 finishes

So this junk that Mizzou is some lucky team is just that, junk.
