He's a decent coach, but is he really performing for that 5 million a year??

Did he just ride johnny's coattail to get that contract?

I'd say let his recent recruiting see unfold before saying he rode JM's coat tails.... Breaking in a new QB rarely works when he's that young.

Then again, I would have seen how he panned out before letting a player earn a heavy contract like that for him. Could be a huge mistake, could be a great move. One year removed from a Heisman QB shouldn't earn a bust label yet.

have to think managing the headcase that was Johnny FF, was not the simple task many here seem to think.

Either way he has the offense on track, sure could use a boom though..

Did we overpay for Sumlin's extension? Yes. Are we overpaying him at the moment? Not yet.

We overpaid to extend him for the same reason we'll overpay to hire a homerun DC in the next few weeks.

A&M has too much money committed in the stadium right now to afford losing any forward momentum(i.e. donations) and that meant overpaying to keep what we have.

We overpaid when ASU, USC and Auburn came calling and we'll do it to try and get Muschamp too.

I'll answer seriously. If he quits tomorrow and leave the program as is? Yes. If he continues down the path of building A&M up as a power then he's underpaid.

They had to do something with all that money Johnny made them. I guess they couldve given it to the AD and president or added on to their facilities......

Not being a dick, but what kind of "power" do you think you are?

It's that pulling on daddy's pants leg type of power that a 3 yr old has. It can only get 2 results....1) Daddy pats you on the head and tell you to run along or 2) Daddy kicks you off.

aTm has been kicked a good bit since joining the SEC.

Continues?

2012 = 11-2
2013 = 9-4
2014 = 7-5

Seems like a path of Decline, better win that bowl game

Not being a dick, but it sure reads like A&M is still building up to being a power. Not that it already is one.

But that's none of my business.

I'm honestly not sure why fans care what their coaches make. it doesn't matter at all for 99+% of them.

if the coach sucks enough the school will find enough money to get rid of him. and that also won't affect the students or the fans.

first question - no
second question - not yet, but we expect that it will happen. I expect to be back to 9-10 wins next year.
third question - no

at the moment, yes. but if we get a good d coordinator who can even just get us to a top 50 D and Kyle progresses and Spav goes over all his terrible tendencies this year and gets them fixed, we compete for the west next year in my opinion.
