Interesting read:

quote:

The current staff is putting together maybe the best all-time recruiting class in the history of Georgia football, at least on paper. Also remember this current staff has not even been together a full year yet. Despite that, Georgia has a realistic shot at Josh Sweat, a player that until Monday was the nation’s top prospect overall prospect.

quote:

And if there is anybody in Athens that should have a smile on his face about the future it is Tony Ball. If Georgia is able to hold on to Terry Godwin, Van Jefferson and add Darius Slayton with others, the WR corps is set to be experienced and humming nicely when five-star QB commit Jacob Eason gets to town next December. I see no reason for the offense to take a step back, and crazy as it sounds, they may be better next year with Brice Ramsey or Jacob Park in the mix at quarterback.

quote:

Mark Richt has had time. He has won big games and he has lost big games. I am numbers guy. Numbers don’t lie, but what you see for the first time in a long time is a group of united coaches, a group that knows how to get it done.

While I agree with some of the anti-richters, we truly havent seen a classes put together like these next two. I still stand by the idea that win or lose, MNC or not, Richt leaves after the Eason saga.

As with many issues at UGA, several of these things are being addressed well behind the national average. UGA is not an agile or innovative institution in many respects.

However, I'm glad to see these changes being addressed, particularly in strength and conditioning. Time will tell if it's enough.

Terry Godwin

I thought he was destined for cornerback. That's where some say he has the biggest upside. And don't we need corners about as much if not more than wide receivers in this incoming class?

If not Godwin, who's the franchise cornerback we're signing?

Right now looks to me like our corners in 2015 are Bowman and Parish. Maybe Fenteng. Who else is there??

No, he is going to be a WR and a very good one at that.

I hope he does indeed go to WR. We need our best playmakers to have the ball in their hands as much as possible and judging by his highlights he makes things happen. I still question the staffs decision of putting Tramel Terry at safety opposed to WR. He and Godwin have a lot of similarities based on play-making ability in their HS tapes but who knows.

The explosive player you see in Terry's highlights is not the same guy who's playing safety at UGA now. That knee injury killed his speed and explosiveness. Some people don't heal as well from injuries like that. Unfortunately, he falls in that category.

Terry Godwin is going to play early and often at WR.

Our years seem to come every five years. 2002, 2007, 2012. So I guess 2017 will be our year. Bring it on!

2016. Chubb and Michel in their last year. Ramsey/Park with a year of experience under their belt (Eason RS, doesn't play till 2017). Defense in Year 3 of Pruitt. By then Richt will have turned over clock management decisions to an old mop bucket, so we should see improvement there.

2016 man. The stars are already aligning.

2016 Schedule is once again favorable....we get Ole Miss instead of Alabama or LSU. Richt is luckier than a 2 dicked dawg in missing LSU and Alabama so often. Imagine if he were coaching in the SEC west and had to play Auburn, Alabama and LSU every single year. Good lord that is an ugly thought.

We ain't winning a National Title in 2016. Between injuries, attrition, graudation, suspension, and failing to seize opportunities I would bet a Coca-Cola right now that we don't finish better than second in the SEC East in 2016. The rest of the conference has simply caught up with and passed us.

And if not 2016,definitely 2017. Or 2018.

It's just around the corner; I can feel it.

I have to disagree with a lot of things there. Every team in college football deals with injuries, attrition, graduations, and failing to seize opportunities. None of those are specific to Richt and/or UGA.

Suspensions give me pause because we tend to go overboard there, but the flip side is FSU and they have lost pretty much all respect.

To say the rest of the conference has caught up and passed us is hysterical. Nearly every team outside of Alabama (and Missouri to some degree) is in a state of flux. Our future is no less promising than anyone else's in the East.

Agreed. Plus we're set to have two of our biggest recruiting classes ever. Regardless of what people think of CMR, the rest of our coaches are some of the best in the business (I think CMR is right there, as well, just without the national championship).

I think we are moving up, even if slightly, from a good position to start with. We're 1 or 2 in the SEC East and getting better.
