As far as the tops matching, I would assume the renditions are off. It would look very aesthetically off for the top rows to not connect. Probably an artist rendition error

I'm a little disappointed myself. Was hoping for something a little more I guess.

And it is going to drive me absolutely insane.

Bjork did say that the NEZ allows for future expansion so I guess matching up the top rows are a plan of the future, but I cant imagine that adding a whole lot

My thread from the SEZ club announcement.

The SEZ is losing some top rows to boxes.

Yeah and they are overhanging the top rows of the SEZ. I dont know if they removed those rows or if you just cant see them because of the overhang, but that is the only way the two sides mirror one another, being the SEZ lost rows at the top due to added suites.

If the NEZ matched the SEZ, with the sweet stadium entrance shown, it looks like it would interfere with the FedEx Center and all those buildings just north of the stadium..

This is why we can't have nice things?

Is it me or are the fedex and starnes building making the west corner of the NEZ look all fricked up?

I like the changes to the front of the NEZ. The new video boards look funny though.

From the Clarion-Ledger

"OXFORD Ole Miss' new north endzone will bowl-in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium and increase capacity to the largest stadium in the state.

Ole Miss announced concrete plans on Monday. Renderings had been released with the start of the Forward Together campaign in 2011 and again last year, but athletics director Ross Bjork said the current plan best fits the needs of the university while staying within what is possible financially.

It's expected to be completed in time for the 2016 season, and will push capacity to 64,038. Ole Miss will start construction on the north endzone in December 2015. It'll begin work on Jan. 7 on the south endzone project, which will add 30 luxury suites and 770 club level seats for 2015.

Ole Miss will move the student section, which is the one most affected by the addition of premium seating in the south endzone, to the north endzone for the 2016 season. It'll grow from 8,100 seats to more than 10,000, Bjork said.

Ole Miss is installing a new video board (104 feet wide by 94 feet tall) in the north endzone, and will have two 30-by-50 boards at each end of the north endzone.

Bjork said that the new capacity meets the current needs of the university, and moving all the premium seating to the south endzone takes advantage of the current infrastructure. Ole Miss could eventually further grow Vaught-Hemingway Stadium by adding an upper deck to the west side of the stadium.

Ole Miss will lose around 2,000 seats for the 2015 season due to the projects, but is taking that from the tickets allotted for visiting teams.

The Forward Together campaign will now cost $175.5 million, more than $25 million from the original estimate. But projects have been added, like a renovation of the Manning Center. Ole Miss will also have to build a new track and field complex after structural problems forced the teams away from the track last season. It'll be built in time for the 2016 school year, at a cost of $4 million.

Bjork said the university has more than $125 million in cash and pledges. The university is pursuing a name for the new basketball arena, the Pavilion at Ole Miss, which is expected to bring a significant sum."

Translation: "We are going to cram a bunch of shite into the south endzone to make a quick buck despite the fact that it will take away from the experience of the fans that sit there. Then we will bowl in the north endzone rather than change the double wide trailer look of the west pressbox because we are in a stadium dick measuring contest w/ State." Got it. Same thing they announced earlier w/ something more concrete on the north.

I agree. I'm not sure why we just don't wait. What is the rush to expand? Why not wait until we are able to do the original rendering. No one likes this new one. There is nothing exciting about this. I'd rather just wait until we had the funds and ability to do better.

78 of that 125 is going to the arena.
11 to the manning center
4 to track and field

So 80 million is going to VHS to bowl in the NEZ, renovate concourses, three new video boards, 800 new club seats and 30 new suites.

Alabamas last expansion cost the same and they ended up with 9k new seats and 36 suites with two small video boards.

It's not a perfect concept, but I do like how much higher our bowl will be. If the video boards were more horizontal than vertical I wouldn't have much of a problem. Speaking of dick measuring, we are 8 fricking feet away from our new video board to be wider than states. Why, not make it 10 more feet, seriously.

Well we need expansion. If you are selling out your season ticket allotment and don't expand, you can't grow your fanbase. VHS is also ugly. So we need a bigger stadium with a goal of making it bigger while also making it better looking. So what is the ugliest part of our stadium? The HS bleachers.

I myself would have loved to use all that money to fix up the west and east sides. Add a deck or two but more importantly mimic the SEZ premium seating on th east and west side. That would trap in the noise, make the stadium semetrical and add a lot of revenue. I don't think having a small stadium hurts us in recruiting. It's having an incomplete ugly looking stadium.

But as I said earlier, the worst part of VHS is the HS bleachers and as you said, we have too many people worried about our stadium being bigger than States.

One thing people don't seem to realize is that Mike Glenn is one of our biggest contributors. How much do you think he is going to contribute if we tell him we are going to tear down the building he built for us just 10 years ago. He's only going to be cool with that if we build a bigger better version at our cost. Building the original concept would have cost way too much. It was a terrible tease because we can't get it out of our minds.

We do not have to money to spend it unwisely. As much as we don't like our multi phased expansion, it's the smartest way to do things. We Rs doing what's best for our program. And spending 12 mil on the IPF was a better recruiting advantage than using that money on VHS.
