SCAR
Auburn
Florida (eventually)
A&M

... all possibly looking for new DCs.

Candidates:

Dave Aranda - currently DC of the year at Wisconsin.
Boom Muschamp - looking for a new job.
Ellis Johnson - nobody wants him - he's done.
Bo Pelini - (I cringe at the thought)

Who else?

With the deep pockets in this league there should be some major talent hired at DC in those four spots during the off-season ... but who are the real big time candidates?

He's already making a million a year at a cushy job with and easy schedule in taterville. He's be a fool to leave that job for a SEC job paying the same money where it is much tougher to win.

Why do you cringe with Pelini?

Pelini is such a whining crybaby punk ... we were talking about this in the SCr forum.

Didn't Pelini complain that the refs cheated him outta win against A&M four or five years ago? He seemed to whine and complain about ever loss ... someone was always cheating him.

I wouldn't hire that guy if y'all gave us the money to piss away doing it. That guy would be poison to any program at this stage and with his reputation as a pathological serial whiner.

Pelini is a huge a-hole dbag. That said. I'll accept him with open arms if it means we field a decent D.

7(14) - Michigan State (Pat Narduzzi)

@FootballScoop Spurrier tells the State that he will return for next season and doesn't plan to let any coaches go at this time LINK

That changes year-to-year and varies accordingly based upon talent and schedules.

You have to look at a DC's overall body of work in order to get an accurate sample of their productivity.

That's why Ellis Johnson, if you looked at his history, was a guy who floated, succeeded and then failed, consistently over the entire course of his career. He's never stayed anywhere long.

DC's are important in the SEC. Muschamp is a proven DC - whoever gets him scores a big hire. Aranda at Wisconsin shows some serious potential. Venables, it's a gamble because he played an incredibly weak schedule this year but ... he's probably a good gamble if someone can lure him away from his cushy job at Clemson. Ferraro at Central Florida is a very interesting possibility. Narduzzi is not leaving Dantonio at Mich State because he feels like he is in line to inherit the job when Mark leaves.

Sheesh ... that is so disappointing. I guess he weighed the potential to lose recruits against making drastic changes. I dunno. I hope the HBC knows what he is doing.

Honestly, I'm not sure how much Spurrier even knows what's going on with recruiting.

He did say MAYBE he would reorganize the staff in a few months, but wtf is that? Ward's defense is literally one of the worst in the country and the worst in SC history. How this guy doesn't get fired immediately like EJ is beyond me.

In his defense, the penalties that night were something like Nebraska 16, A&M 2

He had his moments but he had some games where his gameplan was terrible and he made no adjustments at all it felt like. See the two losses in 2007 for example. Couple that with his attitude and meh.

+1

And yes, he whined about that game. I believe that's the game where he basically assaulted one of his players on the sideline, and he got so mad at the refs he lost control of his urinary function. Peed his pants on national tv. Now that's an anger management issue.

You know what semo ... I remember that now that you mention it. I had completely forgotten about that.
