Scared LSU Board of Supervisors block LSU-Shreveport from having football.

Even though LSUS has the space to add a football field on its campus, there's barely enough money to keep the six current sports afloat. The men's and women's basketball programs have just 3.9 full scholarships and have continued success with a $60,000-apiece budget.
Why are they so scared? LSU makes more than enough money to fund this program. They are scared of in state competition.

They're scared Shreveport is going to steal all the recruits left over from when Alabama gets done taking the ones they want.

weak.
personally I object to state tax dollars substantially subsidizing college football teams. the cost is just too great for the benefit. these small schools need to go amateur. ie, partial schollies.

I guess we'll have to make do with the 6 million other football teams that come along with Louisiana's gluttony of public universities.

We already have too many colleges and football teams here. Besides, if anything, La Tech interests would block this. They don't want competition for north La recruits.

LSU-Shreveport would only take north louisiana players like Cam robinson away from BAMA. So actually LSU-Baton Rouge would benefit from a LSU-Shreveport because Bama was getting north Louisiana players instead of LSU-Baton Rouge.

Trying to save La Tech, Tulane and ULL
It's a little bit different when they cant pay for it themselves. The budget is bad enough and it's not like they already had a team like UAB.
